Here you can have a nice lunch or dinner in a good old-fashioned, folk ambience. The waiters will make you feel special with their kind, friendly and fast service.
The menu is abundant in salads, starters and various dishes which can satisfy every taste. You have to try the specialties but keep in mind that the portions are quite big and can be shared between two if you are not very hungry.
You should not miss the home-made plum brandy and the Turkish coffee and for a midday meal or a late breakfast do not fail to try the soups - tripe soup, chicken soup, lamb soup and boiled beef.

Well beer, especially the dark one is a joke. Only amber could be called beer like. All dishes are a miniature. Skembe chorba is far from best examples in Bulgaria and let's say average. Baklava is rather sweet banitsa. Interior is inconvenient as well. Generally poor experience.

Savoya was recommended by locals and indeed it met all the expectations. Over two years we booked a section of the restaurant for private parties. The we had staff dedicated to us. Great service and the lamb roast was a masterpiece. Fantastic all around experience.
Some touch up work may be needed on the interior but it becomes unnoticeable after couple of glasses of good Bulgarian red wine.

as the street's name says....
The chairs are not comfortable. They have an in English translated menu. Cool beer, too.
My dish was not what I expected, plus you pay for the bread, per slice. The bread came toasted and the fries with cheese were good.
My husband found his dish really good.
They are open from 08.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. Like I 'said' , nice Panorama..

Kalincheva House Tavern

After wandering the streets of the charming old town of Tryavana, what better way to spend a sun drenched day than sitting in a courtyard enjoying traditional Bulgarian cusine?
The restaurant is styled as a traditional 'mehana', the entrance opens to a very well maintained courtyard bedecked with tables, and others beneath the shade of vines (later in the year) or the outbuildings.
There is an in-door restaurant which is very traditional in its style - boasting the carved woodwork synonyms with the area.
The food, English munus available (although some of the translations make you smile - especially the dishes 'constipated with eggs!) is very traditional. The quality is good and the servings are plentiful.
If you've not tired Bulgarian dishes don't be put off by the exact translation or the fact that you'd not normally eat something like this. For example, today, amongst other dishes we had chicken hearts, livers (internals) in onions and Balkan spice. This dish is great - I wholly recommend this. All the usual dishes, great salads, grills etc
Oh yes the pitka - small flatbread - awesome! Served hot, with butter /garlic - go for this alone!
Lunch, salads x3 Rakias (large)x2 +2 (small) 1x Vodka 3 x bottled water x 1 coke, kebabche, kufte, (grilled meats) potatoes, pitka x2 chicken hearts etc all for 50 Leva.
Agreed - tourist area but circa £20? Come on!
Simple - honest and good.
I've dined here before - it was the same 2 years back.

This is the restaurant which serves breakfasts for the residents of Hotel Compliment and please remember there are four or five different breakfast choices. We went there for an evening meal and were pleasantly surprised by the menu in English as well as the quality and presentation of the food. The Sea Bream came on the bone, was cooked excellently and delicious. The other two dishes we chose turned out to be the largest plates of smoked salmon I've ever seen and the fish was accompanied by raw onion which seemed a little strange. Please remember that any side dishes ordered very often arrive at odd moments - some even before the main dishes! Everyone agreed it had been a great night with delicious food and it been wonderful to sit outside under the canopy during a hot and humid thunderstorm.

The restaurant is located just a few minutes from the old town, very close to the town hall. The menu is large, the food tastes delicious and the waitresses are all smiles. There is a singer+musician so one can dive into slow dance or traditional Bulgarian dances.
