Mrs Murphy's Donuts

Mrs. Murphy's Donuts have long been my favorite. I have delivered them to New York City, Florida, and even California to share. My all-time favorite is the maple bacon donut. It is sinfully good. Chocolate cake with glaze is a great second choice, too.

Summer House is a misnomer - it is All Year House. It is a Southwick and surrounding area tradition. It used to be only open in the summer, but for years, is open year round.
Great ice cream choices - both hard scooped, soft serve, and frozen yougurt. They have a full "burger stand" menu with the standard fair of hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, etc. Nice place for a family lunch or dinner out.
In warm months, there are picnic tables to sit at.
Outside service windows are a summer ritual. Kind of thing the kids will remember - waiting in line for ice cream on a hot summer's day or evening.

Two Rivers Burrito Co.

I had the burrito with roast pork. It was excellent. The best burrito I've had. Good chips and salsa.

This is small place. Seems to do a lot of take-out. I found it pulling off the Mass Pike at dinner time for a quick meal on a trip to NY. I'll be back.

Good value - dinner for two $23 (burritos, chips & drinks).

Stopped in here with my grandsons because they had friends who went there. I was surprised that they had a larger choice of foods. We all had breakfast sandwiches which were just right. Everything looked delicious that they had.

This is a family run restaurant...Not a cookie cutter chain. The menu is full of choices from fish...To steaks. No special request goes without. The meals are delicious, creative and affordable. Please be sure to try the shrimp cocktail. Chef Mike has a secret ingredient...They are literally the best I have had. They also have a large function room..And really do a fantastic job! Plenty of parking and conveniently located in Southwick...On 10/202 and RT 57. You won't be disappointed.

Emma's Everyday Gourmet

Reviewed By ulysses4 - Westfield, Massachusetts

It's more Everyday than Gourmet. Very frustrating. I know this chef can cook quite well. Even today, our Veal Saltimbocca was quite good. But the pasta with nearly industrial grade red sauce; the supermarket style grated "parmesan cheese", the mostly iceberg and iced salad with probably commercial salad dressing, very routine "Italian bread" and the lackluster wine list are all caught in a 1950s-60s time warp. It wouldn't pass muster in Italy, and it shouldn't here.

The owners and staff are nice people; the greeting is cordial; but the noise level from the low ceilings has always been annoying. At this price point, I would rather pay a little more to get a better meal. The espresso and cannolis were fine, but they haven't upped their game since the last time we were here several years ago.

Friendly service and we could have stressed out a normal person with our large bunch of indecisive kids. Ends up they have burgers....actually a burger melt sandwich and it was really good. We tried hots dogs -- long ones. It wad all good and reasonably priced. Then we did ice cream and it was very good. Big shakes were thick. There's a little playground in the back by the picnic tables and looks unto a little petting farm. It's a sweet place!!!

I didn't know what to buy first, just a great presentation. I bought some italian cookies, raspberry filled, they were amazing, of course I ate them right away....hehehe. The cannoli and carrot cake! Yummy. :) this place is a must stop if in the area.

Want the best breakfast in town on a Sunday morning trying to get over a hangover???

You found your place!!!

Upon arrival, the place is next to a lake. You can take your boat and dock it outside or drive your car. The place looks like an old barn from the front. Once inside, it is very bare. Very bare bright white walls and super white bright lights adorn the place with the typical chairs and small square tables. No tablecloths and nothing special about this place in the ambiance side.

Servers are very straight to the point but polite. Do not expect much on service but the efficiency is there.

However, the food is what makes this place super special. A group of 9 of us had different items such as eggs and pancakes. The pancakes were either plain or chocolate chip, blueberry and apple among many other fillings. Also the sausages, bacon and many side dishes available, Prices range from $2 to $7 for an entire dish.

I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes as well as 2 eggs scrambled with the sausage and and ham on the side... I know... a lot... but great for the hangover cure! All together the order was less than $10. The eggs were overflowing and the pancakes had so much choco chips in them that I felt that I was eating a chocolate bar! All of it was very tasteful and delicious. Where else can you get the same with the great taste and value?

Nora's Restaurant and Bar

cozy and warm location serving the freshest local ingredients accompanied by a great wine list

Reviewed By Billp11 - Billp11

The food was good, service was good, prices were good so what went wrong? Being new to the area and after reading Trip Advisor Reviews, I made a reservation for our anniversary dinner.

The dining room was empty! Okay, it was a Tuesday night, but the bar was full, extremely loud (both men and women) to the point that I could not always here my spouse sitting 2 feet away. Before we were seated, I asked for a quiet spot. There were no quiet spots. I remember reading that there was a dining room on the 2nd floor and when I inquired about it, I was told it was not going to be opened as the cost to heat it was too much for a slow night. It was not a cold night with outside temps in the 50s, but I understand. I told our server that the noise from the bar was loud and distracting. She asked me if she should request that they quiet down! Sure, this would work, no thanks I declined.

If you want a good meal, good service and don't mind rowdiness and sophomoric behavior by adults, you should not hesitate to go. If you want to avoid this, you may go only when it is economically advantageous for management to allow the use of the 2nd floor.

I may go back when I am not celebrating a special event, as I said, the food, service and prices are good, although I felt the cost of a mini-martini of $8.00 was steep, the food costs offset this oddity. I say oddity, because you would think they were giving the liquor away in the bar.

I suggest that as long as the building of a wall is receiving a lot of attention these days, perhaps Nora's might consider one between the bar and adjacent dining room.
Maybe they can get their patrons to pay for it.
