Mike's Farm and Country Store

I went with family for a birthday celebration dinner. They'd told me how long the wait usually is, but thankfully a thunderstorm kept people away. We waited about 15 minutes. The mac and cheese was my absolute favorite. If you have great macaroni and cheese, I'm sold. The fried chicken was a little too soft for my liking, but it was still good. I prefer crispy fried chicken. The other sides, biscuits, and desserts were excellent. This is a great place, good price for family style, and excellent service. The staff will bring whatever you want more of, no questions asked.

Mission Bbq

Finally got to Mission BBQ on my visit to Jacksonville today. I really liked all the photos and patches. Tables were big and inviting.

I don’t like brisket but decided to give it a try, anyway. It was OK, I’m just not a brisket kind of guy. Had a bite of pulled pork that was excellent, as was the mac and cheese.

The Black Plate special was prime rib, wish I had gone in that direction.

I will be back!!

Fuji Asian Bistro

Reviewed By Bikerdudeandhiswife - North Carolina

We were curious to see what this Bistro thing was about and decided to try them out.

Place is renovated fast food joint, obvious from exterior appearance.

They serve "Asian" food, mix of Japanese and Chinese.

Wife ordered "walnut chicken", a Chinese dish. Good taste and just the right amount for her.

I ordered Teriyaki chicken & steak. Not enough to call it a man size portion but enough..

We shared a serving of "spicy tuna rolls". Worst we ever had anywhere we had been. There were no spicyness at all and couldn't see or taste the tuna. Waste of money.

We came, we saw, we ate...not at all impressed. Waitress had little knowledge of actually being served, other than naming them.

We will not be returning there. Good enough for those with curiousity for "Asian" food.

It is your avaverage Mexican food place. Burritos, margaritas, etc. Usually get a combo platter that comes with the standard rice ans beans. The margaritas are good as well as the chips and salsa. The salsa is average. Little runny but decent.

Ducks Grille & Bar

Reviewed By savogan - Richlands, North Carolina

Went here to meet up with family while we were in town. This used to be our “go-to” spot for great food and great service. Both were lacking on this visit. (Husbands fries were soggy, my chicken florentine was dry with thick, dull tasting alfredo) Lunch menu is still reasonably priced. I usually have much to say in a review, however, I’m incredibly disappointed in the lackluster experience we had at what used to be a must stop.

The Milk Road

Reviewed By Suzanne M

We visited this place based on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed! We admittedly had some apprehension about the place upon pulling into the parking lot - it appears to be a converted garage - but once inside our minds changed quickly. The entire inside is decorated in a modern rustic decor with gorgeous wood, leather and metal tables and chairs. There is a nice view to the "roasting" room as well as an outside 'Espresso Garden.'
The only food item available is a cross between a Belgian waffle and sweet bread served warm - no syrup required!
The coffee has an amazing flavor. There are hot and cold options (however, no fancy drinks like Starbucks). We opted for the Shakerado - a slightly sweetened, milk-free cold drink shaken in a classic Boston shaker and served over ice. Perfection! Not sure if they provide almond or coconut milk as they had none the day we went.
Service was great: a young but friendly and knowledgeable barista clearly explained the difference between drinks in detail.
They, of course, have their coffee for sale by the bag (and will grind it for free if needed), as well as some other items.
Hours are limited, go early and enjoy a fine morning coffee!

Manna Cafe and Grill

Reviewed By angus606 - Clayton, North Carolina

We ate at Manna Cafe Saturday, 15 July, by chance. We were traveling to the NC coast to visit family and Manna Cafe popped up on the GPS.

The Cafe is small, but with a nicely varied menu. Good food, nice people, good prices. I could tell from the conversation that most of the diners were locals who came for the conversation as much as the food.

We each got a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich on toast, iced tea, and split an order of fries. The food came out hot and fast. We left satisfied.

The place is nothing fancy. The food is good. And the price is right. This is a bit off the beaten trail, but the food is worth the trip.
