Don't be put off by the words 'Snack Bar' outside this restaurant, the meals are hearty and well cooked. There is a good choice on the menu; we ate here twice and enjoyed both meals and consider it good value. There were local families eating there on both occasions which helped to provide a homely, welcome atmosphere. The Sangria too is highly recommended!

We were renting a villa in Porto da Cruz and stumbled across restaurant on sea while trying out the sea water pool beside it came back time and time again over our stay. Great food and friendly service. The two brothers were v friendly and spoke good English. Also a Portuguese lady was lovely! The owner runs a surf school locally and was very friendly too. The music and ambience was very relaxed. With stunning sea views. Try the prawns and mussels and pizza. Thanks guys Naomi, Brian, Ava & Zak from Scotland

Restaurante Praia da Alagoa

Reviewed By Monique D - Valkenburg, The Netherlands

We visited this restaurant yesterday and we really must say that the food was excellent. The fish was very fresh and tasty. Also the price was more than reasonable. But one disappointment : the service from the waiter was poor. When we entered there was a large group having lunch. We asked to be seated. When we had a table we were just ignored. Even after waiting fifteen minutes and asking politely to be served. The young man just said: " a minute!" I don't understand why they don't just tell a customer what the problem is. If he just would have explained that because of the group it would take a little longer. This is no way to keep customers!
