the chips and salsa were pretty, bleh
the quacamole was uneventful
the service really wanted to be poor but had some really good moments. The food was exceptional. Both meals were wipe the plate good. i wish i had written down what we ordered. a fajita dish with shrimp, steak, pork, and jalapenos, and also a plate of shrimp, pork, beef, and bacon on rice (ask for the cheese on the side!!) the beer selection was what you would expect and the prices reasonable

Stopped here for lunch while in Orange City doing some shopping. The smells coming out of the place were wonderful. I just wish the food had been as good. Had a smoked chicken wrap with a salad for lunch. The salad was awesome but the chicken in the wrap was over done and had no taste. May go one more time to give it another chance.

Forget crap at Pizza Ranch or take out from Casy's.
Only pizza spot in County with wood burning oven. Top ingredients: semolina 00 flour and they make their own mozzarella. Great thin crust made to order. Nice affordable wine and beer list.
Expanded the joint so more room to spread out.

Anytime I’m in Iowa we make the pilgrimage to Orange City where I was born and where my dad grew up. We always stop at the Dutch Bakery. In small towns and on main streets everywhere, places like the Dutch Bakery serve as community gathering spots where locals gather for coffee and a donut and a little commiseration. While they sell donuts and bread, we always go for the almond patties, a well-known Dutch pastry, flaky, sugared and dense with a gooey almond paste filling.
When there’s a crowd at the bakery, my 89 year old mom, much to our embarrassment wheels around asking, “Do I know you?” She always finds a connection! – a neighbor of my grandparents, someone who knows my aunt or knew my dad, a friend of a classmate from junior college. Orange City is a close knit town and it shows up in places like the Dutch Bakery.

This is our go-to place when we are in NW Iowa, partly because of nostalgia (my grandparents lived nearby) and partly because they have such wonderful baked goods. We pick up some raisin buns, rusk buns, cinnamon rolls and other decadent homestyle treats each time we come. We also like the sandwiches- hearty and tasty and inexpensive. You don't need much more than one of their sandwiches and a treat from the bakery to get you through the day. There are also lots of Dutch foods and "trinkets" if you want to get some local flavor. The town was founded by Dutch immigrants and while it is now much more diverse, that Dutch heritage permeates much of what you see around. Take it all in!

Just like the big chains only small-town friendly. Great changing selection of yogurt flavors with sugar-free and low-fat options for those conscious of that. Every topping you can think of is available!

We tried several other restaurants but they were closed on Monday. We defaulted to Los Tulipanes and we ended up surprised that the food was decent. Service was good, prices reasonable, and the food was tasty. The menu had ample choices for a diverse client base.

We eat here when in the area and it is always good food. Buffet is always filled and the food quality is good. Broasted chicken is sooo good. The pizzas are different and the cactus bread - yum! The staff is always friendly and patient with our big family. We will definitely eat here again.

I really enjoy this place. The seating is interesting and I've always had excellent service. I had the Chicken Strip Dinner, it came with a large platter, you definitely don't leave hungry. Make sure you have a breadstick, I think they were better than Olive Garden's. This is also a great place to get authentic Dutch food, I haven't had the soup but it comes highly recommended.
