The Hayloft- Local Food, Cooked with Love! Focusing on friendly service and fine cooked food, family friendly easy location and lots of free parking. Online Booking Available!
We had stayed in Looe for the weekend and were looking for a Sunday lunch location before travelling home and found this place on line Sunday morning and we were able to book it on line too for 7! We were a bit suspect that they had a table for 7 available as assumed it would be booked but the reviews were good and the snowy weather may have helped us too.
When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff and taken to our table past the carvery with a really happy, smiley and chatty chef and to be honest though they gave us the menu, all had made their mind up and went for the carvery as it looked that good, apart from our youngest who went for the children meatballs.
Well we weren’t disappointed as it tasted fabulous, with a good selection and portion of meats, a large Yorkshire and lots of nice veg. It was really good value too. If it was nearer home, we would go their often. A great find and thoroughly recommend.

At Tapenades we offer a selection of Cornish Fish, Meat and Vegetarian dishes from the a la carte menu which changes with each season. Sourcing Local produce where possible and preparing each dish fresh allowing the opportunity for our guests to swap the appropriate courses around. Each booking has the luxury of taking their time as only one sitting is taken per night and booking is recommended. Proud to host the Liskeard Rotary club on every Wednesday and only shut on Tuesdays means the restaurant is available to book 5 days of the week from Thursday to Monday inclusive. Private Lunches of 10 or more are also available. Ring for details.
My wife, daughter, 6-year old granddaughter and I were cordially greeted by Mike, who took our coats and settled us in the cosy Reception lounge whilst we warmed up, had a welcoming drink and perused the menus.
Excellent food with excellent, personal service. Good, clean facilities.
No hesitation in recommending this little gem.

Called in here for lunch on our way through to Plymouth.
It’s a welcoming comfortable pub and there is ample parking. The staff were so helpful and polite.
The menu and specials board, between them give a good range of food availability’.
It’s cooked fresh to order and they are ample portions.
There is something for everyone and even the fussiest eaters would find something to eat.
Well worth a visit!

A 17th century stone walled pub with big open fire and fantastic locals! The pub is friendly, cosy and dog friendly. Serving good quality food made with local produce and serving very well kept ales. We hug our barrels! We also offer great wine and gin menus.
We were looking for a pub/restaurant off the main roads on the way back from holiday in the Lizard for lunch - we met up with my cousin and his wife from Tavistock.
A large parking space, an exceptionally friendly welcome and a log fire were a good start. We had not booked - but were found a nice table..A really good atmosphere and, although we do not have one, - nice to have a dog friendly pub!
The food is just superb! We had locally caught fish - cooked to absolute perfection -with excellent sides. My cousin and wife had fish and chips - not deep frozen but also locally caught (Looe). Wines and beers were also good! The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality.
This place deserves to succeed and I am sure that it will - I think it is a family run business.
We will return!!

Welcome to The Highwayman Carvery. A well establishment, friendly and welcoming venue. We have an amazing Carvery on every day complimented by a tradiotional Menu catering for all tastes.
There is nothing wrong with this place, decent enough food, friendly service etc. It's just that it's nothing special. The term 'average' comes to mind. Had the fish and chips on a non special offer day and it was ok but lacked that wow factor, especially in today's competitive market. It wasn't helped by the bullet garden peas, sorry if you're going to promote this dish as one of your prominent meals you've got to offer mushy peas with it. As regards the setting and atmosphere the pub needs an upgrade, it's not scruffy just a tad dull and tired looking. There are special meal deals heavily advertised especially for kids freebies and pensioner reductions. Unfortunately our visit coincided with a chaotic noisy session of uncontrolled children running here, there and everywhere, I accept this is much more to do with poor parenting than pub management. All in all it was an ok visit but nothing better than average, the review is not seeking to be too critical or disrespectful, perhaps it may provide a couple of ideas for improvement.

We visited to support the Explorer Scout group fundraiser and were very happy with the selection and tastiness of the food and the friendly staff. There was a range of dishes to choose from, laid out for self-service, and we all returned for seconds. We will return.

The Fat Frog is a family run cafe in a small Cornish town. We cater mainly for the locals but look forward to our visitors from all over the world. We frequently get complimented on our coffees. We specialise in all-day breakfasts and grills but have many other dishes, including homemade meals. We are popular with families as we are very child friendly. All of our food is prepared to order so you can choose to mix and match the menu items. We like to think that our prices are pretty reasonable compared with the 'chains'. We do special offers all the time.
Always break the journey to have breakfast here. Everything about it is great, speed of service, quality of food, excellent cooking and full range of choice. We have been to others in the past but the Fat Frog is top of the list and worth jumping off of the lily pad to get to.

Lovely little cafe on the edge of the town, attached to a small garden centre. Lovely cakes and light lunches. Coffee and walnut cake absolutely fabulous. It was a very cold day when we went and we weren’t overly warm in the cafe but it wasn’t too bad, put an extra jumper on if it’s cool. The decor is very pleasant with real candles lit to add to the ambience. Great little cafe, we’ll be back when next in Liskeard. It’s just something different.

Visited here recently and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and service. We arrived very close to end of lunch time, but that was not a problem (unlike many other establishments) and our order was taken with a smile. This is not gourmet food but good honest pub fare.

Family run Farm shop & tea room sourcing all products from local producers in Cornwall. We also offer good quality food, delicious homemade cakes & scones all freshly made in our kitchen.
We visited here for the first time recently and found the staff very polite and the place clean. The views from the cafe are just fantastic. The issue I have is that I was charged £8.00 for a large cup of tea and two hot cross buns toasted which to me is way to expensive even if the buns are artisan baked.
