Log Cabin Inn

Great food and service that is typical of any of the Springfield Restaurant Group locations. Even though they were quite busy, we were seated and had our meals in a timely fashion. It was nice to be seated by the fireplace, as we had been out in the cold for a while and it warmed us back up nicely.

Only downside to the Log Cabin is the parking, due to the terrain the parking lot is on the tight side.

It also helps to use the No Wait app in your smart phone. My wife put on the list while driving to the restaurant, we ended up waiting around 15 minutes to be seated. The people who came thru the door the same time as we did had a 30-45 minute wait. They were very busy for it being 2pm on a Saturday afternoon, but we thought a lot of the business was from people who had been to the German Christmas market in Harmony like we were.

The sweet crepes here are absolutely fantastic...but I certainly don't want to think about the calorie count! Service is friendly and pretty quick. You can see your food being made right at the counter. Need to go back and try the grilled cheese (their other specialty).

If you want polished silverware and a five course meal, this is not your place.

Been eating here for many years. It is known for breakfast, fast service. Price is better than anywhere around. I enjoy meeting folks here early in the morning prior to the work day. Recommended to anyone looking for a quick home style breakfast who doesn't like to eat nasty fast food.

Needing a quick lunch I decided to try this lovely little restaurant. The Rueben melt, soup, and pumpkin spice latte made for a fantastic lunch. The price was reasonable, the service excellent, and the food was even better. The intended quick lunch turned into a longer than planned lunch so I could enjoy the food. I much prefer this place over the larger, busier chain restaurants. I'm looking forward to a return visit

Stohr Haus Bakery

Reviewed By Linda Margaret - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

This is a quaint eatery/bakery that sits on 534 Main Street, a corner in historic Harmony, PA. The ambiance is something from a by-gone era both inside and out with wooded trims, flower boxes and small-town cordial people.

Breakfast is 7:00 -11:30 AM Wednesdays through Saturday.
Lunch is 11:30 AM -1:30 PM: ditto. (Specials of the day offered.)
Open until 2:00 for coffee and pastries.
Closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Unsure if it is handicapped accessible. Call ahead to find out if needed. 1-724-473-0306.

Limited seating inside. Patio seating when weather permits. Also, they manage a dinner once or twice a month (reservations needed and must call for date and time in advance) that they serve in the old, vaulted wine cellar beneath the building. Still have to do that...can't wait.

We have never eaten there (YET) but go in for their scrumptious pastries, baked on-site by someone who REALLY knows what they are doing! Loaded with cinnamon & gooey icings the Bear Claws and Cinnamon Rolls are quite large and very good. I think they were around $2.50 apiece. Pricey to a degree, but worth the wonderful taste. We were told that the dough alone takes 8 hours to make. Brownies, scones and daily specials fill the glass case.

We were there on Wednesday around 11:00 AM and freshly baked Claws and Rolls were just coming out of the oven. Of course, we waited a few minutes for them to be iced, then picked the ones we wanted. Hot and fresh...our mouths were watering.

In addition is: Danish, Cookies, Scones, Cakes, Pies, Quiche, Biscotti, Coffee, Tea, Jams, Jelly, Local Honey, Treenware, Herb Wreaths.

Parking is easy. Right on the street there are several pull in slots and if you want to make a tour of the village, then a couple of parking lots are at the end of town. From those, it is a three minute walk if you are not stopping to gawk along the way. (The tiny town is really quaint.)

We drive there at least once every two week to stock up on goodies for freezing. We definitely patronize the establishment since there is no comparison (night and day) between their baked goods and store bought.

This little local pastry shop may not have the flare of a modern city goers sweet factory, but the food speaks for itself. I grew up near New York City and currently live in Washington DC but have yet to find any pastry shop that makes anything close to the greatness of the homemade bear claws here at Carol's. Anytime I come close to Pittsburgh, I make sure to drive up to Carols and stock up on those excellent treats. You're just not going to find them made like this anyplace else in the country!

We don't go out to eat often, mostly because we are always leaving disappointed. This was not the case at Clifford's. We were so impressed - the service, the food, the atmosphere. Our group all very much enjoyed this dinner. The prices were not given but with it being a special occasion, we weren't overly concerned with what we spent. The bill for 2 adults was around $125, having purchased an appetizer and 2 entrees.

Don't quite understand the other reviews. The "custard" here is just soft ice cream. I've had true "custard" other places and it was much better. We tried all 3 flavors and I wasn't overly impressed. They were not particularly flavorful and they were not the dense and creamy consistency that you expect from a "custard". It's wasn't bad it just wasn't great I wouldn't make a special trip by any means.

Harmony Inn

My husband and I went with our friends to enjoy a pleasant night out. The wines were ok the martini watered down. The appetizers were served, bacon wrapped scallops and goat cheese pillows. Not great but good the weird thing was the count, 3 pillows and 6 scallops. Who does that? The pork cutlet entree was fried to a dark brown crisp, drying out the pork. The mushroom gravy was not gravy any more having apparently been reheated many times b4. Very thin potato pancakes, tasting similar to potatoes, applesauce out of a jar. German chocolate cake had nothing to do with coconut and was stale to boot. Dark beer good long island ice tea good, salmon not very flavorful. All in all a very disappointing meal, will never go back. Too bad, as the historic significance of the structure is great, but the food not so much.
