We went to this restaurant for lunch during a whole day excursion. Everything was well prepared. The waiters very friendly and helping. There was a buffet with different local dishes. The guide had explained to us that the menu was based on Christmas Day pork, a recipe that makes the skin so crusty, there is always a fighting among the family members, who will get the most of it! And, believe me, it was worth of its fame! Besides this, there was a lot of fish: Smoked salmon, herrings and sole. Rye bread with butter is always the base for an open Sandwich in Scandinavia. A variety of excellent salads and dips. The dessert was excellent. 2 big cakes disappeared in seconds, as people couldn't stop taking more and more. The restaurant is simple but with a relaxing warm atmosphere. There is an outside Seating with big umbrellas surrounded by big beautiful trees.

No, no, no! The location is beautiful, but the service bad even for Danish standards. The waiters are young and seems uneducated.
The food is actually good - but we encountered several flaws:
- warm white wine (a very, very small serving)
- no bread (the waiter apologized: For some reason we don't serve bread...)
- first serving was lukewarm
- very, very small servings - even if you order five courses from the menu
- staff wasn't paying attention or even asking about the food
Will never go there again - and you shouldn't either. No good. Sorry...

We were going to visdit the Royal Palace in Fredensborg, Denmark. Their pizzas are excellent and their prices are reasonable. My wife and I each had a delicious pizza and a glass of red wine. Total cost DKK 189. The restaurant is located about 5 minutes from the entrance to the palace

Small place, but very good prices and super nice owner. We have mainly used it for takeaway, as the place is kind of small and not that inviting. Great springrolls.

This is a small local place close to the castle serving honest danish food in HUGE portions. It is a small young staff but they are doing a good job. Limited number of dishes and the winelist is not long but it is worth visiting

Being placed in our home town this place has REALLY been missed. Tina has as the hostess of this beautifully restored old royal inn really created an unique upscale bistro experience. It is a funny mix of old school romantic settings and some genuine revitalized food classics. Some people scold them for bad attendance from the staff? Well - talk to Anders or Christian who are our favorites besides Tina herself and tell what and how you want your evening to unfold and they will create wonders together with the kitchen. Thanks for always walking the extra mile for us and never disappoint us these 20 times or so we have been visiting this past year.

My wife and I visited Fredensborg Brodhus & Café for lunch. We were part of a large tour group and while not everyone went to the café, those that did enjoyed themselves. The staff were very polite and helpful while the selection of pastries, many of which were made on the premises was excellent. Although space in the café is fairly restricted, we were able to eat outside while sitting in the sun. A great café which is efficiently run by fun-loving staff.

Very nice interior. Visited with the wife one evening.
No reservation needed.
The service is very attentive, only problem was trying to pay cash - I learned that in Denmark, very few people pay cash anymore! But it worked after all.
The food was very good, we had the lamb curry and butter chicken. The meat was perfect and very well spiced.
If you like your indian food very spicy (hot), you should tell them beforehand, because as everywhere in Denmark, people are not used to it and therefore the standards hotness levels are medium at best.
10/10 will come back on my next visit to sjaelland!

If you travel to Fredensborg during the summer - then skip the dessert where ever you plan to eat and the just visit the little Ice Cream house by the lake and taste some of the fantastic (and very big if you like) ice creams. And this summer (2017) you will also be able to have a great coffee and sit inside if the whether is bad.
But 10 meters from the Ice Cream house you will find the lake and maybe the best sunset north of Copenhage.
Kiss and enjoy
