While vacationing in Hamilton, we enjoyed a country ride into Excelsior Springs for lunch at the Mercantile. Having never been before, we ended up so glad we went. Wonderful wine-centric restaurant downstairs from a great little wine and gift shop. Only downside is the lack of handicap accessibility, but we managed.
Lovely selection of Missouri wines, and fresh flavorful menu items. Wonderful service. We spent a lot of time in the shop picking up some unique gifts and selection of wines.

Take your time and look over the menu. There are many different types of ice cream dishes to choose from! They have a lot of sundaes, shakes, malts. You can even get an old fashioned phosphate soda! In addition to the soft serve you will find a wide range of scooped ice cream.

Located in a historical downtown district. Bistro type atmosphere with original wood floors, tin ceiling, and brick walls. Owned by two sisters who have brought great flair to their menu with family recipes and ingenuity that appeals to everyone. Serving steaks, pastas, burgers, seafood, and homemade desserts, you will want to come back over and over.
From a romantic couples dinner to a big family dinner.... Ventana is the place to go! The food is delish, the atmosphere is great, the service is fantastic!

Loved the barbeque sauce!! So great. excellent prices, quick service. Not overly friendly staff, but nice enough. We ate at the bar side (separate enterance) as the dining side closes earlier. Husband got chicken strips and also liked them, but was highly disappointed when he tried my pulled pork sandwich and realized how great the sauce was.

Ray's was opened in 1932 and not much inside has changed. Supposedly, the ghost of Ray is seen periodically but no such luck this time. Try the breakfast garbage sandwich that has everything you want for breakfast. The homemade biscuits by Brenda are amazingly good. Sit at the counter and be awed by how fast Brenda cooks and moves--it's like she is on roller skates.
Can't wait to come back.

The brioche French Toast topped with fruit is worth every calorie. Also returned for blueberry quinoa pancakes (to save calories, haha). Not a fan of quinoa but these pancakes were terrific. Fluffy and tasty. Also had lunch with a good club sandwich. Service is a bit spotty depending upon whether you are there on a slow day or the weekend.

My family and I eat here whenever we are in town. ALWAYS DELICIOUS. Try the El Maguey Fajitas...you're welcome. Also, it's not on the menu, but they serve a very good Michelada (think bloody mary with beer instead of vodka). Ask for Danny as your server-He's the BEST!

I live right up the street and have ordered lunch for years here for my entire family of 4. That is $30.00-35.00 at a time, I have always been able to ask them to leave out certain vegetables and it has never been a problem. Today I was told rudely and repeatedly that I could "pick it out". Well, now you can "pick out" the $30.00-35.00 1 to 2 times a week you just lost from me. What a horrible way to treat steady and reliable customers. I will never order from Hunan's again.

Not wanting the $30 Mother's Day brunch at The Elms where we were staying, we walked a couple blocks to this diner. We arrived around 8:30 am just as it was starting to fill up. Service was very slow for a diner, even tho the waitresses were rushing around. It's the kind of place where the hash browns come from frozen packages and there's creamer instead of real milk or cream. You can get eggs, French toast and pancakes. Nothing fancy. It's inexpensive.

We always enjoy our inexpensive lunch at our local ARBY's. The meat quality is good, warm and tasty and the bunds are fresh. The Manager has been there a long time, remembers us and calls me by name. It is a nice place to go for a change of fast food - served up fresh.
