Driving from Medora to Scranton we needed to get lunch. Since it was Sunday many places were closed. Fortunately, we stumbled onto the Hanachi House. This is a really nice restaurant. The service and food were both very good. If you are in the area, give it a try.

Just a good ole American greasy spoon. We enjoyed our meal and the portions were plenty. Food is made to order so don't expect McDOnalds like speed, and it is worth the extra few minutes compared to fast food restaurants. They also have a nice big arcade room so bring some quarters!

Good family style meals - Friendly staff. Good eats.
Not many choices to eat in Bowman. It is indeed in the middle of nowhere (on the way to Theodore Roosevelt National Park). I used my old standby to choose a small town eatery - how full is the parking lot. This lot was packed and the food was great. Service too!

Family restaurant and Bar. Full menu featuring pizza, broasted chicken, wraps tacos, burgers, wings, daily specials and more! Game room on family side. Full bar with darts, pool, bingo, pull tabs, and touch tunes.
We stopped here for dinner on a Saturday night. There is a family dining room and a bar, and we ate in the family dining room. We got salads, two beers, and a cheese pizza. It was all fine, served by a dutiful, but not particularly friendly or cheerful wait person. The salad featured iceberg lettuce, and the pizza was--okay. We went away no longer hungry, so if that is your purpose for dining here, you're at the right place!

Not very hungry after our tripfrom Devils Tower. Decided on Subway in this super small town. The free standing building was a plus. Super clean with frendly service. Our sandwich was prepared just the way we like it, toasted bread with cold veggies and beef steak...

You can find whatever you want to eat or use while traveling at this location just east of the US12 & US85 intersection. They have many "made that day" or "by order" food items as well as the standard "off the shelf" fare. They have a "starbucks"-like coffee bar with staff. Bathrooms are very average.

In southwestern North Dakota, on east end of the Bowman Lodge and Convention Center, you will find Grazers. My good-sized stuffed cow burger was as advertised and prepared as ordered. The made-on-site potato chips were great. The grilled cheese and soup were fine but not memorable. When we asked the waitress about the coffee, she said, "it was hot," which was a complete assessment. Stick to a canned soft drink or beverage from the bar. Very nice hotel bathroom just out the door (off the hotel lobby).

We entered this tiny town in southern most North Dakota and stop to gas up. I noticed a food truck just behind the convenience store with a funny name- "Wurst Wagon". With a name like that and having recently returned from Germany- we just had to try it. We had the sirloin tip sandwich, the Wurst with cheddar, potato salad, and Cole slaw. Every dish was good to great. As I mentioned this was the best food on our trip. Again I lived in New Orleans seventeen years and know delicious food found in dives and elegant restaurants and so we were terribly disappointed with virtually every restaurant in which we ate from Nebraska to North Dakota- all that is except for the "Wurst Wagon". the proprietor stated that her father was a butcher in a nearby town who made all his own sausage. We were pleasantly surprised by our find in this quite remote part of the world.

It is a flower shop, but also has a cappuccino machine and sells pastries. Not a common combination - flowers and cappuccino. But being from Seattle we were sorely in need of a mid morning caffeine fix on a long drive to Theodore Roosevelt national Park, saw "lattes" advertised on a small sign, and tracked it down. Bowman is not that big so it was easy to cruise the 2 block main street.
