Precious Moments Park

A 6,400-square-foot sanctuary containing 52 Biblical murals.

Reviewed By Tim W - Cresson, Texas

As we were staying locally on our way up north, this was an obvious tourist stop along the way. We immediately knew that our daughter-in-law would have particularly loved this attraction, as she is head-over-heels in love with the Precious Moments line. We were treated to a special event during our short visit to the chapel. Mr. Sam Butcher, who is the artist solely responsible for creation of the Precious Moments phenomenon and its current chief artist, was making touch ups and updates in the chapel. It's not often that one gets to see the artist at work. This is a beautiful attraction and worth the stop - even if you are not one of their greatest fans. A special note to those who are: Many Precious Moments out-of-production pieces are still available for sale in the gift shops, making this a worthwhile stop for those seeking a special or replacement piece.

The park's reconstruction as a memorial is very thoughtful and detailed- right down to the number of trees matching the number of victims from the tornado. In addition to the memorial there are playground areas. Right across from Cunningham Park, the memorial continues into Mercy Park.

This is a marvelous local farmers market. The food is fresh, flavorful and reasonably priced. You can find vegetables, fruit and meat. Live music fills the pavilion and the aroma of food from the market being cooked is delightful. What you buy here is 100% locally grown from inspected farms. This is one or our favorite markets.

The Wildcat Glades Conservation & Audubon Center

Conservation area south of Joplin, Mo with extensive walking trails, museum, and wildlife programs & activities.

Reviewed By AMRossi9242 - Thermopolis, Wyoming

At a time when nature is highly desired but harder to find, Wildcat Glades is a wonderful escape nestled outside Joplin. The center itself has live animals and lots of hands-on activities along with information on this one of a kind ecosystem. They offer great activities for kids and families, but it that isn't your cup of tea, the trails are scenic and peaceful for a casual stroll or a energetic jog.

It's always disheartening to see so much development encroaching on natural areas, but in Joplin a sizable section is still preserved by a very dedicated staff for recreation and escape. I am excited to see where Wildcat Glades goes in the future. And its all free, so why shouldn't you give it a try?

Whether you have time, spare change in the donation box a membership, whatever! This area is worth conserving, and well worth your time.

At first glance this statue looked a little creepy. Then once we got closer and realized it was praying hands, it took on a new meaning. It's nice reminder to bow your head and say a little prayer or give thanks to Him for your blessings.

We needed gas and saw this was a short drive from the gas station . Parked on the road and made the easy scramble down the chert rock to the falls. Enjoyed the cool, moist air on a hot day. Found a spot downstream to soak our feet. These are supposed to be the highest continuously flowing falls in the state. Worth a quick detour for a different break from driving. Wouldn't expect more than a half hour stay.

I am currently doing Route 66 with my father and brothers, we stopped at this iconic Route 66 landmark, we pulled onto the parking lot, all got out and within 1 minute approached by a rude, aggressive man talking to us like crap " where are you from, England we say, you people don't respect our laws" My father apologised and said we are leaving to which he got even more aggressive.

It is a CINEMA open to the public, if you don't want people to stop and look don't have a CINEMA open to public.

This Route 66 landmark should not be visited as proprietor is rude and aggressive.

This was the only bad experience we have so far encountered on Route 66.

Shrine Circus

Reviewed By Sidra1987 - Toronto, Canada

I have been going to the shrine Circus every year from about three or four years now! We were very excited love the show love the shrine Circus the performances are always amazing! This year I wanted to take everyone because it has always been so much fun! One of the workers there was the biggest jerk I've met in my life! He was an old guy they say he was a volunteer! But at the shrine Circus I have never been so mad in my life as the worker there made me! I was so upset I was in tears before the show have even started.

I had tickets for 12 people and we were the first in line we were waiting in line from 2:45 and the show started at 4:00! It was printed on the ticket they would let people in at 3:00 which was a mistake an hour before ! So we were in line much earlier because we wanted to go in and get good seats because last year I had my wheelchair and they gave us very bad seats of to the very side where you see the backs of people when they perform there was a huge pole right in front of us! So this time I wanted to make sure that didn't happen and we go in way ahead of time and get good seats because the place gets full instantly. And There were 12 of us! This time I had actually forgot in my wheelchair at home and I came all the way from Brampton to Woodbine centre but one of my cousins Who lives in my area was also coming to the show so I asked her when she comes if she could bring my Wheelchair! My cousin ended up being late and we were in line standing for a while . Father sister and three kids were with me.
Everyone else were still on their way.

I asked my sister if she could go in to Woodbine guest services and borrow a wheelchair from there because my feet started to hurt and my legs were starting to shake! I can't walk for too long and I can't stand for too long. I can do short distances walking and I can stand but after a while need to sit and then I can stand again but then need to sit again! So that's how it is I have rheumatoid arthritis, which is joint pain affects every single joint in the body from toes , ankles, knees hips elbows shoulders wrists fingers every single joint. But looking at me you don't see the pain. My hands have deformities. But The rest of my body looks normal. So if you don't see my hands you could never guess anything is wrong. I'm only 28 so I look quite young as well to be in a wheelchair I've had this joint pain from about 10 years now I was 18 when the pain started. There is no cure for just painkillers. Anyways my sister got me the wheelchair and I waited on the wheel chair in the corner in shade under the tent it was ridiculously hot as well and we were fasting on the day. I told my sister that when they let people in you go run and get good seats The lineup behind us was very long people were waiting to get in now! And it's whatever seat you get you get!

When they were letting people in all of our people were not there yet and we had everyone's ticket. We told lady we gave tickets to but the rest of the people are still coming in here their tickets. She counted the tickets for 12 people let 5 of us in and said everyone else was coming tell them to ask for Barbara and tell them our last name and she'll let them in. Right as she said that 4 more of our people made it. And she let everyone in. Still 3 were on the way .

So when they let us in the worker there guided me and told me I would be sitting with my wheelchair in the wheelchair section. The other side my sister had gotten seats she had the kids seated my family was seated there was 12 of us everyone was seated where'd they wanted to sit, allowed to say it was not in the VIP section the VIP seats were also labelled VIP. She got her seats everyone is seated and the worker there told me I had to sit in the wheelchair section like last year all the way at the end on the very side with a huge pole right in front. Okay that's fine and now he's telling me that everybody who came in with me they have to sit on those seats the ones with the big pole right in front! I said why they could sit wherever they want to and he insisted no everybody who came in with me all 12 people have to sit in the wheelchair seats off to the end where the seats my sister had got were right in front with a good view. So the men there is arguing with me telling me I have to call everybody and tell them to come sit there and where did they go I was with my father and he gets upset really quickly and he's saying OK OK if we have to sit here we have to sit here because the worker there is telling us that ! And I was like no we paid for the tickets we waited in line and we will sit wherever we want to sit and in fact I will also be sitting with the rest of my family I will not be sitting where he told me to sit because the seat was horrible. He Told me that was just not possible because I had the wheelchair with me. I said OK I'll get up and sit in the seat that I want to and fold the wheelchair and put it on the side. And he said no we can do that either then I said OK then I'll put the wheelchair back in the car and I'll sit where I want to as long as it's not VIP I can sit wherever I want to. So I got up to go for the wheelchair and tell my sister to go put the wheelchair in the car and this man goes to me you can stand you can walk you were lying to me about needing to be in a wheelchair. I was like what the hell did you just say are you serious. I was on a wheelchair but I paid for my ticket if I got in free because of the Wheelchair then he had the right to say something and maybe make a comment MAYBE . Thinking that OK I'm in a wheelchair get some advantage from it. But what advantage did they give me for being in a wheelchair ? Nothing so why would I need to lie about needing a wheelchair or not! That actually really upset me!

Then he went on to say that there were so many of us everyone just ran in and we didn't pay for our tickets!! Like are you serious! Would That even be possible? Because I paid $200 for the tickets and if we can just run in the next time that's what we're doing !! and you all can do that too! Just run in because apparently if you just run in without paying they'll let you in!

Anyways I told him that he cannot be saying such things and he can go up to the front lady who took her tickets Barbara and ask her. He replies to me saying I said I needed a wheelchair and I don't need a wheelchair and I'm just a liar and he doesn't believe a word I'm saying . Then I asked him what his problem was and he told me that he's going to kick me out and I have to leave. I said for what I paid for my ticket and I'm standing right here and I want to see you make me leave.

I was actually heading to the front at that time where people coming from because my aunt and uncle were there as well in the front and they never had tickets so they were two extra people so I wanted to go get them tickets he never knew where to get the tickets from they were coming first time. So I was heading out to the front and the worker who had been bothering me went to Barbara and said to her that we all just ran in and didn't pay. And instead of telling him that we did pay she says to him well what can I do. Wow like are you serious too. I was so upset this point I was crying.

So then my aunt and uncle went home they said they're not buying tickets they don't feel like it after seeing how I was being treated . and I was in tears so I told them to just leave .

And Barbara goes to me I should just ignore him abs he's the type of person who will not apologize .

Then a Security guard working there came up to me and asked what was going on and I wasn't able to speak at this point I was soo upset. And the security guard is telling me come here come tell me what's going on come talk to me. I'm telling him forget it I don't want to talk about it. But he was very kind and he's asking me do you want to sit in the VIP seats do you want to sit in the ringside seats and I'm telling him no I want to sit with my family and he saying he could take six people put them in VIP seats and I'm thinking if I wanted VIP seats I would've bought VIP seat tickets. I don't want anything . Then he's telling me I can buy whatever I want from there for free and I told him no whatever I want to get I will buy it myself! But he made me feel better. He told me if I needed anything at all to come tell him as he works there others were just volunteers.
This all happened before the show so you can imagine how the show was for me. I didn't tell any of my family members what was going on because I didn't want to ruin the show for them we were there to have a good time. Asking what happened everything was fine and nothing happened.

I'm a Very calm person don't get easily upset. I Ignore stupid people. This worker there went over the limits and nobody has ever made me feel the way he has!

I love the shrine circus but it was definitely not worth it with workers like that! I will probably go again because the kids and everyone actually really does enjoy it! It will never be the same. And if there's one thing I learned is you really can't let people walk all over you! When Something is wrong is wrong. Don't be scared and stick up for yourself!

Horrible horrible experience at the shrine circus 2016 Woodbine mall 4:00 show
