We went two couples to the "Image of a Murderer" escape room in Petach tiqva, after being in around 10 escape rooms before. This is definitely ranked for us in the top of the list, everything was great - the riddles, the atmosphere, the flow,...MoreWow!!! You left me speechless.... Thanks Tomer

Ronit, the operations manager acted like our Concierge and helped us greatly whenever we needed anything either travel related or otherwise. Even at off hours she and others were available. We made some changes along the way and were accommodated every time. The company also had the best vehicles. I insisted on a luxury tour for ourselves, our children and grandchildren. We are spoiled and insisted on having the newer Mercedes Sprinter vans with leather seats and wifi etc. That is why I first focussed on Gold Carpet but it was the service we received that made the difference in this our most memorable family vacation. We travel extensively, usually on the better cruise ships, and know what we are looking for. They were not inexpensive but delivered the quality I felt I was paying for which is why I am happy to repay their efforts with this glowing review.

Petach Tikva Market

This is huge farmer market with a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits, and all other agriculture products. Very noisy and rather dirty place, crows, parking problem. Modern building construction. This market is convenience to buy something fresh, (sometimes cheaper than in supermarket - but not always). If one wish see authentic oriental bazaar, like in Jerusalem or Akko - here it is wrong way. Don't think this market is an "attraction".

In recent years, there has been intense competition in Israel between various movie Theaters. While they are a dying breed in many places around the world, for some reason here the business is flourishing. This is why the Theaters tend to be top-notch, with interesting (if sometimes tacky) designs, comfortable seats, additional features, etc.
GlobusMax opened recently after a long renovation of the previous Rav Hen theater in the Petah Tikva Ofer Mall. I went there to see a regular movie (not 3D or "4D" or anything like that), and the experience was OK. I really liked the fact that they had a break in the middle of the movie, something rarely done nowadays.
However, as one of the newest Theaters opened in the country, and in light of the competition, I expected something mind-blowing, but in the end it was just OK. Probably the same or a bit worse than many competing Theaters in terms of comfort and design.

We came as group of 8, all willing to become prisoners in the infamous camp 23. They couldn't keep us in. We escaped... Barely.
But the experience will stay with us for a lifetime.
Certainely one of the best escape rooms we've visited (most of the group were experienced escapers), with an engaging story, fun and active puzzles, and lots of surprises that left a feeling of a daring hollywood movie, more than the regular "find the key" motif we sometimes see in the genre.
Lots of fun, and highly recommended!

With three young kids, the youngest 2 years old, and a Hamsin outside we were stuck (we are the grandparents), till we found this place. Incredibly well organized, despite the crowds, air-conditioned, safety conscious, it kept the kids (ages 5 and 9) wonderfully busy and even wore them out.
There's food and coffee at surprisingly low prices. Oh joy!

Petach Tikva Museum Of Art

Reviewed By rnizan - tel aviv

Some ten or fifteen years ago when a new Director came to this out of the way museum nobody really paid attention. However after a major and intelligent renovation of the existing space people stated to notice: Since then the museum proved time and gain its ability to create shows theat are sensitive to actual events and/or developments in the art world. The present show is called "Citizen" and refers to the social and political upheavel in Israel and elsewhere featuring some great work of arts. In addition from time to time they exhibit some surprising gems from their collection. The present one is a show of sculptures by Nahum Aronson whose planned show in the Louvre was canceled because of WW2. The story of what happened to the collection and how it got to the museum is as facinating as the quality of his work.
This probably the best small museum in the country.

Did the Chicago escape room as a group of 5 and had an amazing time! The (English speaking) crew was very friendly and helpful. The room itself was fun and sophisticated, but also decorated in a very authentic way. It wasn't my first time doing an escape room and all i can say is that it's one of the best i've been to. Would definitely come back for their second room the next time :)

The Great Synagogue

Reviewed By Ynhockey - Petah Tiqwa, Israel

The Great Synagogue of Petah Tikva is one of the major Israeli synagogues that are neither ancient, nor built specifically by/for the ultra-orthodox. It was built in the late 19th Century, and at the time was the main landmark of the city. Today it's a bit hidden in between buildings, but it still stands out if you get close enough.
The interior of the Synagogue is decorated with some nice art, and the interior design is quite something for a Synagogue (which are supposed to be modest and simplistic according to Jewish tradition). The outside features a mini-square from where you can look at the sundials on the front wall, which signify Shabbat hours and other things. This is a unique (or at least rare) feature of the Synagogue.
Even so, parts of the place is in disrepair, despite numerous donations and municipal assistance. The exterior was supposed to be renovated in the 2000s, but as of 2015 nothing has been done yet.
If you find yourself in central Petah TIkva for any reason, or want to visit the city, you should definitely see the Great Synagogue, as there aren't many places of interest around for a tourist. However, coming here especially for this building (if you are a tourist) is likely inadvisible.
