If you are looking for gorgeous places to enjoy a winter walk or cross country skiing, this is one of those places. Dress warmly! The washrooms are closed in the winter, too bad they are desperately needed.

Right now there are some great Christmas/holiday light displays that you can drive around the park and see. Also a great place to skate in the winter. This summer I tried the canoeing and mini golf - great! Fantastic place to cycle as there are lots of nature trails that you can also hike. HIGHLY recommend.

Pleasant setting but small gallery, devoted to Tom Thomson. The collection at the AGO Ken Thomson collection is much larger. In addition the AGO has a number of works on loan from this gallery. Wish they would have held on to them or got them back from time to time. Unsure of their loan policy.

Jones Falls

Reviewed By rnr636 - Elora, Canada

We parked in Owen Sound Transportation Company lot. It is a Tourist Information Centre as well...lots of brochures available. As well as washrooms and a couple of picnic tables. Handicapped accessible. No parking or admission fees.
The Falls are not handicapped accessible. They are located in the Pottawatomi Conservation Area. It's about a 5 minute walk in. You can't see a whole lot from top coming in this way. So we hiked down to the bottom. It was very rocky and jagged. But you are rewarded with a great view. You can practically walk right up to the Falls.
Climbing up the other side is a bit less treacherous. Except we ran into a couple of off leash dogs that made it difficult to keep my balance on the jagged rocks. That is one of the reasons there is a leashed only sign upon entering. Unfortunately it isn't always followed. Once on top we walked out on top of falls. Gorgeous.
Can't visit in the winter though.

Indian Falls

Almost inside a city, Indian Falls are in Sarawak Township, at the northwestern edge of Owen Sound. A one-kilometre walk through Indian Falls Conservation Area leads through ferns, trees and wildflowers. The horseshoe-shaped falls drop to a quiet pool before Indian Creek flows on to empty into Owen Sound Bay.Driving Directions:Follow the scenic Georgian Bay Route from 2nd Avenue West to Grey Road 1. Look for Conservation Area sign directing you west to parking area.

Lots of free parking. Washrooms. Closed in the winter and early spring.
A beautiful but challenging trail that is about 1 km long leads you along the Indian River and up the gorge. There are 2 levels of stairs that assist your 15 metre ascent. And of course the reward at the top is the gorgeous Indian Falls. The gorge itself is amazing with it's red shale and the river running through. You can hike through the river itself when the water is low and view the gorge and falls from the bottom. As with most Conservation Areas, dogs are allowed on leash. It is not handicapped accessible and I would not recommend it for young kids.
Also within the perimeters of the Conservation Area are township tennis courts, a playground and baseball diamond. We used the GPS coordinates from the Water Falls map when driving here and ended up in a neighbor's driveway so just look for the baseball diamond from Grey Road 1.
