City Hall

The town hall is one of the most beautiful public building in Arad. "Ferdinand" room is a spectacular location where I had the chance to participate in few Conferences. Last summer I've been part of a beautiful wedding of dear friends there. The location is gorgeous and can be visited during certain hours, with permission. Don't miss this place. It's in the center of the town and you may even have the surprise to do shopping and listen nice music during the festivals organized in front of it.

Filarmonica Arad

Worthwhile to see but try to go when there is a concert. The best concert is the New Years Concert in early January which features Strauss. The building contains 2 small museums. One is a natural history museum which you can walk through in 30 minutes. Don't bother to pay extra money for photos. The second is upstairs and traces Romania's history with an interesting section on the 1989 revolution. Now bear in mind my rating is in comparison to other Romanian museums so don't expect the British museum but is good place to kill 2 hours. You might also cach someone practicing in concert hall.

Statue of Liberty

Reviewed By 545medva - Budapest, Hungary

This is the monument for the heroes of the 1848/49 revolution against the Habsburgs in Hungary. 13 general were executed in Arad, and this monument from György Zala to remember them. The very strange think that there is also a monument on the square for the roumanian "heroes", who helped the Habsburgs to defeat the revolution. It show only, that there is still a very strong opposition against the Hungarians who was the main population for ages in this city.

Trajan Bridge

Reviewed By Vladimir1998 - Rotterdam, The Netherlands

There's not really much to see, but this is definitely a beautiful bridge (a bit similar to the Liberty Bridge in Budapest). Because earlier the river Mureș used to split 2 different administrative divisions, there were custom houses on each side of the river. One of them (the one from the southern side, from Aradul Nou) still exists, hosting a bar today.
