It is a nice place to visit with your family and friends. The natural limestone formations make you feel amazed. The interesting thing about this mountain caves is that it is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Entrance fee is 50 Saudi Riyal for adults and free for children. The visit will take about 1 to 2 hours. This historical place is magnificent with the beautiful formations of the sedimentary rocks and the panoramic view of the palm trees from the top.

Joatha Mosque

Reviewed By TravellerMan72 - Oslo, Norway

The right spelling is Jawatha not Joatha.
We drove from Hofuf just to see thos wonderful ancient historical lovely mosque about 15 mints. away and it was well worth the time and effort. I have always wanted to see the wonderful mosque. It was like a dream come true!
Here is some info about this small amazing mosque:
Jawatha Mosque (Arabic مسجد جواثا ) (also incorrectly spelled Al-Jawana) is located in the village of Al-Kilabiyah, about 12km northeast of Hofuf, Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia. It was the earliest mosque built in east Arabia and most of the original structure is in ruins. The site is still used for prayer.
It was built the in seventh year of hijra (c. 629 AD), around 1230 (13th century) at the hands of the Bani Abd al-Qays tribe which lived there before and early in the Islamic period. This mosque is believed to be the first mosque built in Eastern Province and is where the second Friday congregation prayer in Islam was offered, the first being held at the Prophet's Mosque in Medina.
The Mosque has been recently renovated and restoration of the surrounding garden and games for children suitable space to spend quality time together with family and children.
The mosque's current structure's design is simillar to the design of Masmak fort in Saudi Arabia.
I recommend you visit this amazing mosque if you were in al ahsa.

Located in the center of Al-Hasa close to Ibrahim palace and the oldest bazar market in Al-Hasa. This souq is very old place for traders along ages ,recently it has been restored as the old souq was completely destroyed by a huge fire. Most common traditional Arabian staples can be found here: spices, ouds, perfumes, incense, garments, baskets, colorful tea pots etc. The stores are well organized and fascinates with all those colors and smells.

We were told that it opens at 9:00 AM and we were there. Noticed later that opening time is 9:30 AM. So, beware of opening hours otherwise you will waste your time going and coming. Many shops and restaurants. Nice walk and then had breakfast. Many shops don't allow men. Either ladies or families. Nice perfume shop

Ibrahim Palace

Reviewed By adamgB2040YJ - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

The timings can make your visit difficult, but if you do have a chance, you must visit this location. Initially built by the occupying Turkish forces headed by Ibrahim Pasha, the fort was later turned into the central command post under King Abdelaziz Al Saud. You can see the old stables, and officers quarters, mosque, and of course, since the fort was built by the Turks, the Turkish bath. The fort is also a great place to visit during the yearly held historical and cultural festival, Hasana Falla.

Hafouf National Museum

Reviewed By urShadow - Riyadh

I visited this museum again on Friday, 1st May 2015 at 5:15pm with colleagues but it was closed. As per its operating time it should have been open, there were no other people/cars there and the entrance looked like as if it has been closed for a while. I am not sure if it has been closed for good, plz check in advance if you are planning to visit it.
