900 Grillhus is a restaurant for the whole family with the menu ranging from pizzas and hot dogs to steaks and lobsters. We are renowned in Iceland for our famous lobster burger, which has 140 gr of beef and 100 gr of local lobster, and our various lobster and fish cuisine. Opened for business June 5th 2010, 900 Grillhus is a family owned business that started as Topppizzur in 2006, and is still sometimes reffered to as Topppizzur by the locals due to the popularity of the pizzas. So be sure to stop by at 900 Grillhus in the heart of town Vestmannaeyjar. Surrounded by hotels, hostels, stores and a bank and a bar just around the corner (though we do serve a decent selection of alcoholic beverages), there's hardly a more convenient place to dine than 900 Grillhus. We were here for dinner and ordered the lamb sirloin. The lamb was very tender and the spices good. One of our party had lamb that was quite grisly. The good part was that our server quickly replaced it with more lamb. The apple pie and ice cream were delicious

The restaurant Einsi Kaldi is located on the ground floor of Hotel Vestmannaeyjar. The house itself is a historic place, where a lot of establishments have been located, such as a cinema, a soda factory, a printshop and later on it was used as a storage building. The house collapsed during the volcano eruption of 1973 but was rebuilt again in 1975. The owner of the restaurant Einar Bjorn Arnason ,,Einsi kaldi", local man, born and raised in Vestmannaeyjar, enjoys greatly to put his magic and imagination into delicious seafood-dishes and for that he is renowned. His interest in working with fresh fish is not really surprising since he is so close to one of our richest fishing grounds, which gives him the opportunity to obtain fresh products from the boats daily. He actually puts a great emphasis on obtaining his products locally, such as cliff- and seabirds along with various herbs picked on the Island. During the summer Einsi kaldi, and his team offers a diverse menu from lunchtime to evening, seven days a week. At lunch the emphasis is on light and fresh dishes, such as soup, meet and of course fresh Icelandic fish and Danish Open Sandwiches. In the evening variety is the name of the game and you can choose everything from appetizers to sumptuous meat and fish dishes, something for all tastes.
Wandering around town until we decided to try here. A much more inventive and tasty lunch than we had expected. The chef has high aims and deserves your support. The room is more modern and 'designed' than many which makes for a nice ambience.

Slippurinn is a family run eatery by the harbour in a 100 year old building that once housed a machine-workshop that served the old shipyard. It's casual, friendly and excellent quality. Our philosophy is simple and honest, we cook our food from scratch using the best ingredients in season. We get most of our vegetables from farmers on the south coast and we go next door to the fish market to get the freshest fish possible. We grow our own herbs and salads and forage the island for wild herbs and seaweeds. Our unique cocktails made from local herbs are a must try! The highly ambitious kitchen is run by chef Gísli Matthías Audunsson. Indiana his sister, is the general manager and bar manager and mom Katrín is the front of house.
The historic industrial past of the building provides the setting for lovely meals prepared with care using many local ingredients. You won't find. better, fresher food anywhere in Iceland. Fish dishes 'to die for' and some very unusual. The Rhubarb Cake was lovely and the Grilled Pears with hazelnuts and lovage emulsion worth going back for.

GOTT is a healthy, creative family owned restaurant in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland with fresh, authentic ingredients. The restaurant makes its breads freshly every day and all food is made from scratch every day. Fresh fish from the fish marked. The head chef and owner Sigurdur Gislason a former member of the Icelandic culinary team and his wife Berglind Sigmarsdottir have published two best seller cook books in Iceland.
A wonderful place to eat. Great menu and helpful staff. A great place to meet friends and i would recommend GOTT to anyone visiting Vestmannaeyjar.

Best food (fish) I have eaten in a resraurant in a long time. The food was on the table perfectly cooked 10 min later after we ordered it. The price was reasonable.

Tanginn is a family friendly restaurant at the harbor in Vestmannaeyjar. We are restaurant, bar & café. We serve dishes from catch of the day to burgers. 3 soups are available and salad buffet. Tanginn is on two floors with a lovely view over the harbor in Vestmannaeyjar.
We were table number two in the restaurant. We were there for Lunch. My guests wanted to try the whale, but not as a main course, so we asked if they could have one portion split into two, so they could have a taste. The answer from the Chef's was short and simple, "No" I was quite surprised and asked why not, It's one portion put on two plates. The answer was again short, "Sorry". Of course we could have ordered one portion and they would then split the portion them self, but we had at this stage, reached "Negative" and had left "Positive"

Great soft serve ice cream. We found the soft serve in Iceland to be the best ever and this place was at the top of the list of the places we stopped. Typical soft serve toppings. Clean and nice staff

Being a pretty miserable day on the day we visited Westman Islands we were totally delighted to walk into Café Varmo and to be so jovially greeted and well-served by staff.
We thoroughly enjoyed our steaming bowls of Icelandic Soup, with crusty bread (and the cold beers prior to eating). The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and unpretentious - just how we like it!!!

The good thing we have to say is that the kids really liked the spring rolls, the best they ever tasted. On the other hand, one of the fish dished was too salt, the other no salt at all, the third way too sweet, and we got terrible stomach ache some ours after eating it!
