Blue Highway Pizzeria

Blue Highway is a a casual, family-friendly neighborhood restaurant specializing in traditional Neapolitan style pizza and calazones. Small plates, salads, paninis, sandwiches and desserts are served. Glueten Free options are available. A good selection of local craft beer and wine is also available. We take great pride in our culinary culture; serving the highest quality fresh, local, organic (when possible), and expertly prepared food, served with love.

I understand this is Blue Highway's original location. I'm more familiar with their Ocala restaurant, which I like a lot. The Micanopy place has less seating in an older building. The food is very good at both locations, and the staff is friendly and informative at both locations. But this Micanopy location utilizes a lot of disposable tableware for diners, which is a big disappointment to me. If I'm going out to eat, and dining in the restaurant, I don't want to be eating and drinking from disposable plastic. The size of the facility may make cleaning non-disposable tableware a problem, but it can't be good for the environment.

Traveling from north Florida to south Florida and was craving ice cream. Less than a mile off I 75 was Coffee and Cream also known as Micanopy Cafe.
Great little place , also serves organic wines, espressos and small meals in a traditional small town cafe setting. Seating inside and out. Very Charming and worth the couple of minutes drive off the interstate
Micanopy is named as one of the cutest small towns in America.

The Yearling

Reviewed By FNIGUY - Hamilton

A group of four on a Sunday night for a birthday dinner. We were seated quickly in a booth near the bar and a waitress promptly took our drink and app orders.
We started with fried green tomatoes which came with ranch dressing and a spicy remoulade for dipping. They were lightly battered and seasoned and cooked to perfection. I ordered blackened catfish with a side of tater tots and okra with stewed tomotoes. The fish was cooked perfectly. Tender and flaky, not dried out and overcooked as often happens with fish. The two catfish fillets were very well seasoned and not overly spicy. The tater tots were a nice treat which I dipped in leftover ranch dressing from the fried green tomatoes and the okra was also cooked perfectly. Overall a great dish!
Two of my companions ordered the roasted pork chop and were both very happy with the chop and the portion size which was quite generous. Sides included baked potato, greens and cheesy grits, all of which were reported to be very well cooked, seasoned and tasty.
The final diner had roast venison cooked medium rare which was perfectly done and super tender. His sides were baked sweet potato and greens, which again were cooked perfectly. All meals came with two delicious hush puppies as well.
We finished the meal with a shared slice of sour orange pie, which has the consistency of key lime pie but tastes like a creamsicle. It was frickin' awesome!!! A perfect end to the meal.
This restaurant is a slice of genuine North Florida nostalgia. It has been around a very long time (and looks it, I might add.) but that's a big part of the charm. Frequented by local regulars, it's a great place to go for a delicious and interesting meal.
Take a walk through the restaurant once you're done and view the library filled with books that are for sale as well as a huge display of stuffed animals. You won't be disappointed!

Antonio's Made in Italy

Reviewed By Michele F - Vero Beach, Florida, United States

My husband and I have (while visiting our son) tried just about every dining spot from Gainsville to Micanopy.
We had read reviews and driven by Antonio's many times. We were so happy to finally have dinner at this adorable restaurant.
Our waiter Aaron was charming and knowledgeable about the wine and menu. I ordered the veal parmigiana which was tender and delicious. My husband had the Brushetta appetizer and one of the specials - stuffed veal chop. He was delighted with both choices. We finished our meal with the house made Tiramisu.
The desert was different from the usual -more of the yummy custard than cake - amazing!
We, not very long ago, spent 3 weeks in Italy from the Alps through Tuscany and Rome. We ate wonderful food and Antonio's did not disappoint.

Mosswood Farm Store

Reviewed By orlandogal22 - Orlando, Florida

We've been to Mosswood 2-3 times now since discovering Micanopy and it truly is a hidden gem. Don't let the exterior deceive you. You walk inside and it rivals any cute little city coffee shop.

Unbelievably fresh and delicious pastries. Our faves are the gluten-free peanut butter cookie (trust me when I say that whether you're gluten-free or non-gluten-free, you will never taste a better peanut butter cookie), the chess pie-like thing, and the frosted brownies... they are massive! Everything is fairly priced and delicious.

They also have a myriad of coffees and teas to try. The café latte and café mocha are other favorites, as is the iced coffee. She can make it any way you prefer.

They also have cute magnets (for Micanopy or the store itself), as well as great soaps, local honey, etc. Tons of neat little things to look at in the adjacent little "store" area.

Oh - and don't forget to wave "hi" to Creamsicle, the store's cat-in-charge. ;)

Overall - HIGHLY recommend! LOVE this place.

It's been about a year since I dined at Antonio's. Why did I wait so long????? Still the best all-around dining experience in Marion County. From the quaint setting, lovely ambiance, nice music, intimate seating.....what's not to love? I love it all, with the food and service being tops! Last night, a friend and I shared an appetizer of homemade mozzarella with ricotta and herbs, two entrees of ribeye steak and lobster ravioli, a couple side salads and desserts. OMG, we were in a food-euphoria coma! And getting to visit with Antonio and hear his story was a wonderful bonus. We appreciated the Limoncello......would be happy to try that again! We are never disappointed dining at Antonio's. And excited about experiencing whatever he has in store next!

They just remolded this from the old Antonio's Deli and it looks amazing. They have great pizza, wings and sandwiches. Inside is a nice bar area with TVs. They have a separate dining room with booths against the walls and long tables in the middle. Out front is a covered patio area with seating as well.
The food is excellent. Sitting down or calling ahead to order a pizza to go. It's great to have some place like this in the area now. It's located in Mcintosh, FL just a little south of Micanopy on 441.
