Peace River

This is one of my favorite places on the planet. Bring a strainer and a shovel. You will have a shark tooth in the first five minutes. You never know what you will find. I have found shark teeth, crocodile teeth, horse teeth, beaver teeth, turtle shell, manatee rib, scutes, and other bones. I dream about this river when I am not on it

The Arcadia Opera House

The Arcadia Opera House, built in 1906, is a museum and enormous antique shop. It houses an amazing collection of historical items and the theater is in near original condition. Several paranormal investigations have taken place there and the Opera House is a well know haunted location.

Reviewed By JosephatFremont - Fremont, Ohio

We thought we couldn't miss the opportunity to see the space rebuilt in 1906. It was full of a wide range of antiques and stuff. It lacked high quality items with mostly items of regular American Life--not a whole lot different than the 20 plus other Antique stops in Arcadia, Fl. Unfortunately the place has not been well cared for with paint chipping off many of the historic surfaces. If you are in town to shop take a look but do not expect to be amazed. Pretty average.

Brownville Park

Try to reserve a campsite well in advance, the place is very popular and rightly so! The park is open only half of the year as the other half it is flooded by Peace river, you'd never believe. Be advised, the closest grocery store is 8-9 miles away (Dollar General, then Publix, Winn-Dixie in Arcadia).

Lions, Tigers & Bears

Nice, clean wildlife refuge with lions, tigers, bears, howler monkeys, peacocks, and other animals. Way out in the middle of nowhere, but worth it. We will be doing their dinner safari, where you feed the animals, then have a light supper at the owners' place.

Morgan Park

Walked the trails in Morgan Park many times over two separate winters spent in Arcadia. Absolutely gorgeous Florida flora and lots of amusing armadillos rummaging around on the trails' edges. Calm, peaceful, relaxing, and restful. A wonderful place to spend a few hours and get your exercise at the same time. Don't miss it if you are anywhere near Arcadia.

Cory's Antiques

Reviewed By John K - Lutz, Florida

We spent most of Thurs antiqueing in Arcadia. Bay Street is the historic section of Arcadia and has been nicely maintained and is pedestrian friendly. Corey's is one of several antique stores along west Bay St. Corey's has a very nice selection of items and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The prices we saw seemed to be reasonable and they were willing to deal. We will definitely shop here again.

Relics on Oak

Reviewed By pablocollier - Bradenton, Florida

This town is full of surprises. One of those is all of the antique stores, small and large. My wife and I are not antique collectors but found the store on Oak St. WONDERFUL. What a way to spend a quiet day, eating in one of the great restaurants and spending hours, in and out of all of the stores.
