Could not resist the chicken fried steak. I considered the delicious fish and hamburgers, but I must have been in a chicken fried steak state of mind.
As always, the meat covered the plate, so sides were served on separate dishes. Everything was delicious. Shared the steak with my wife, and carried enough home for two sandwiches the next day. Did I mention the chicken fried steak is a big portion?
Service was friendly, efficient, and attentive. Visiting with staff was, as usual, a pleasure. I am ready for my next visit.

This restaurant is a Catfish restaurant. They also serve hamburgers and cheeseburgers. They have various appetizers. The alligator bites were my favorite appetizer. Their hush puppies are unique and flavorful, they come in jalapeño and regular and are served before receiving your meal along with really good coleslaw. You don't have to worry about portion size because they are really large. Their French fries are homemade. They also offer soft serve ice dream. They also have an outdoor dining area where you can sit and look out over the lake. Great service!

We have eaten here several times and the food was very good.
This time not so much.
I think they have a new cook.
The catfish was still good but almost over cooked, the fried shrimp was over cooked as was the onion rings.
The gater eggs aka jalapeño poppers were terrible. Now these were under cooked and didn't taste good at all.
Hamburger and fries were good.
Hush puppies were good.
Again I think they had a cook change as it was more the way food was cooked than the quality of the food.
We hope this is just a temporary set back for an otherwise fine restaurant.

The Grill is a little deceiving. It's on the same property with a small motel and the "Swamp Thing" boat tour, and it looks like a little cabin. But from the moment we walked in, it felt like we were surrounded by extended family. The owner, Kay, is a little woman with a bubbly personality who apparently has never met a stranger. Her sole mission seemed to be making us comfortable and making sure we weren't hungry when we left. The food was hot, the beverages were cold, and the peach cobbler was sinful. We found ourselves talking like neighbors to people at the next table we'd never met. While we looked at the souvenirs, Kay told us stories about the area (she's a third generation in the area) and occupied the kids with her pet turtles. It really was like being back in my aunt's kitchen, where there was plenty of food, fun, and conversation.

We called in and ordered beef tacos and fish tacos. With a side of guacamole. Excellent flavor. Great guacamole. Price is reasonable. We will definitely be back. Service was great, very clean. Worth a visit.

You pick up the supplies you forgot and enjoy a good barbeque plate or sandwich at the same time. The cooler is stocked with cold beer too!

Coming from the U.K. This is a very authentic east Texas experience. Atmospheric bar with traditional food. HUGE PORTIONS!!!
The bar tender Andrew was very friendly and kept us entertained on a rainy Tuesday afternoon in the rain.
Double meat & cheese burger might be the biggest I’ve ever eaten (I finished it, but needed a lie down afterwards)
