A lovely setting looking out to Loch Shiel. We had drinks in the reception room which has huge windows, you could spend ages gazing out at the view. Along with the drinks we were served "nibbles" of smoked salmon pate tartlets, olives and feta cheese.
The menu is perfect, not too big and a good selection to suit most palettes. You can see the menu on their website. Everything was fresh, locally sourced where possible and a good selection of vegetables.
The service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Ardshelach. Looking forward to going back!

We went for lunch yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to see plenty of gluten free options especially cod and chips which my wife chose and really enjoyed as it's not often she gets the chance for GF batter, I had their bacon cheese burger and chips and this was one of the best I have had in a long time. We will be going back during our holiday here.

Ate here last year and enjoyed it. Friendly helpful staff. This year we found same staff same menu but not nearly as helpful. I've never understood turning away walk up tourists when there is room inside. Yes they were reserved but seats in bar etc could be utilised if they wanted to wait. We took about an hour to eat and reserved tables were empty all this time. In an area where choice of eatery is limited I feel we should be looking to help tourists more. I actually left to go advise the folks on their options and they weren't amused with the hotel.
The food was nice, nothing exceptional. Nothing new added and nothing that stood out at all. A lower score would be an injustice. We just felt the good standards had dropped slightly.

This place is brilliant. The area is beautiful with some wonderful walking and scenic drives. Come here for delish home made cakes (ginger, fruit, Victoria sponge, coffee and walnut and carrot cake when we went) at only £2 a pop and - at last - a decent cup of coffee. They also do salads and sandwiches and stuff. Open 10-5, with possibly a last food order at 4.20 (although I'm sure that's flexible, the guy who runs it is lovely), this is the cafe with the green teapot outside; there are two in the village.
Previously closed for a bit in April 2017 it is now most definitely open and worth a visit.

We are a grocery shop selling general groceries and have been told how well stocked we are! We are licensed so have a good range of beers, wines and spirits including local ales and whisky. We also serve proper scooped ice cream, sundaes & milkshakes. We have home baking, homemade soup, sandwiches and hot drinks for you to have in our small tearoom or to takeaway. We try to source our fresh produce and meat as locally as possible and get fruit and veg from both the Ardnamurchan Garden and Shielfoot Organics. We have newspapers! And are happy to put one aside of you anytime. We get milk and bread daily and fresh fruit, veg and meat twice a week. We are also happy to take special orders. If you would like some shopping ready to pick up when you arrive then just send me a list via email and ill make sure we get it together for you. We also take bookings for boat trips with Ardnamurchan Charters, pop in or give us a call to find out whats going on.
Went here today for a Sandwich for lunch. Everything was spotlessly clean. The chillers full of food were sparkling. The Sandwich and coffee was lovely. The bathrooms were so clean. What a joy in the middle of nowhere in Scotland. Well done to you all. Would certainly recommend to all.

A warm welcome. Helpful service without being intrusive. Menu limited to an appropriate selection of quality locally sourced plates, beautifully prepared and presented. We enjoyed rare pigeon breast and goat's cheese with chanterelle mushrooms for starters. For mains, we had venison loin and mussels. For pud a selection of Scottish cheeses and poached rhubarb with a pannacotta like custard. Complimented by a 2012 Rioja. Outstanding. Mingary Achcarcle has become a foody paradise. We ate here last year and were worried standards might have slipped. We were not disappointed.
