Celbridge (/ˈsɛlbrɪdʒ/; Irish: Cill Droichid) is a town and townland on the River Liffey in County Kildare, Ireland. It is 23 km (14 mi) west of Dublin. Both a local centre and a commuter town within the Greater Dublin Area, it is located at the intersection of the R403 and R405 regional roads. My mum & I participated in the "Perfect Afternoon Tea Stand" course in the Village at Lyons. From the moment we arrived we were treated by friendly, courteous & efficient staff. It was lovely to have a cup of tea or coffee on arrival too. Our teacher was Danielle who led us through the creation of an afternoon tea stand, baking breads & sweet delights. She managed to keep us all on our toes but in a really enjoyable way. My own level of expertise is somewhat lacking but Danielle guided me so that I was thrilled with my results. We dined on our creations with Danielle & the other participants, it was lovely to share lunch together. We were all strangers that morning but we had bonded as a group over pots & pans on hot stoves! Lunch was well earned, as was a glass of wine! Overall we experienced a warm welcome in the most delightful surroundings of The Village at Lyons Estate. We proudly returned home with our treats knowing we had baked them ourselves, and armed with some great recipes and tips for future culinary exploits. Thank you Danielle.

Love Fishing Ireland

Love Fishing Ireland have a small team of experienced guides available for tailor made fishing excursions for both wild brown trout and pike. While the standard days guiding on the River Liffey or Rye Water will appeal to many, for the more adventurous we offer guided trips by Canadian canoe along what are considered to be the best fishing beats of the River Liffey.

Part of the adventure of fishing on the River Liffey and the Rye Water was just getting from the cruise port in Dublin to the train station in Hazelhatch where my wife and I met Rob. We were soon geared up and ready to fish on the River Liffey. It took a bit of time for me to figure things out with Rob's guidance but eventually I was able to coax several beautiful wild brown trout to the fly. My wife didn't have as much luck with a spinning rod so next time she'll definitely be fly fishing. We tried the Rye Water after lunch but the wind was not our friend, though my wife did hook a large brown on the spinning gear before we finally called it a day. Rob was a patient and affable guide and he understood it was as much about enjoying the countryside and stopping for a photo or two as it was about catching fish. We recommend a day with Love Fishing Ireland without hesitation and hope we get another chance on the Rye Water.
