Platis Gialos Beach

This semi-private beach offers typical deck chair rental services by the accompanying resaurants/hotels. The actual beach here is beautiful and safe and very picturesque. Anyone can swim here although beach space is limited as most is used up by deck chairs and beach umbrellas.

Paraga Beach

Reviewed By Dave H - Marlborough, United Kingdom

This used to be our favourite beach, being a compromise between the noisy party Beaches and the open strands with no shade. There was something for everyone during the day including taverns, bars and mini market. You could wear as much or as little as you wanted depending on where you sat.
Sadly in 2017 Damis sold his part of the beach at the right hand side and it has been developed into Santana, a noisy, expensive area with shade made of net, well over €120 for a front row place and resulting traffic issues getting there, compounded by the fact that is has been built on the old large parking lot. The clothing optional area is now limited to the public open beach to the right and long standing customers have largely moved away to Agrari or off the island.
If you don't mind the music it is still an ok beach, but is morphing into another Paradise.

Mykonos Catamaran Sailing Cruises

The top excursion in Mykonos! Alternative, unforgettable sailing tour from Mykonos on a stable and safe catamaran. Sail to the surrounding Islands of Delos & Rhenia. Swim and snorkel in the fantastic turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea, away from the crowds! Outstanding service, delicious mediterranean cuisine cooked on-board. Real sailing, a lot of fun in the sun... Chill out on our catamaran!

Reviewed By CTtraveler030 - Stamford, Connecticut

We went out this June privately with Mykonos Catamaran - for just myself, my husband and our 18 year old daughter. We chose the sunset sail - and were picked up by a private driver at our hotel at 3:15 PM and returned at about 9:00 PM. The catamaran is large and luxurious. We felt incredibly pampered.
We were taken to a beach on a small island, where we were able to get out and swim to shore. We also sailed closely by Delos, which was incredible and lovely. The only down side was that our crew had not been on Mykonos long - and they did not know much about the history of Delos - so they couldn't tell us much about the island or what we were looking at. I asked about a few sites and buildings that we could see from the catamaran - but they said they had no idea. Still, it was something to see, even from the water. I'm sure you could learn a lot by taking a tour of the island. However, I have also heard that it can be hot and dusty and without any shade - so seeing it from the water had it's perks as we drifted along in the cool sunset with a nice breeze. Should we return to Mykonos - I would do the same catamaran again - and I would also do the walking tour of Delos as I'm sure it's fascinating.
The two member crew could not have been nicer! They allowed us to determine where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do and if we wanted to swim or sail.
And the dinner, which was expertly cooked for us on the boat - was out of this world! We all loved everything. There was enough food for 20 people easily! So many different dishes to choose from! As I've stated in other reviews - we love the tomato balls/fritters in Greece! Just awesome. And the wine flowed. The sunset was gorgeous and we never felt more relaxed. As the sun set and the air became cool - the crew gave us blankets to snuggle up in. It was perfect...
I have to mention that we were celebrating our daughter's 18th birthday - and the crew supplied us with an incredible cake for her! They gave us a choice of chocolate or caramel cake. We chose the caramel - and it was a great choice. She loved it and was very surprised - especially when they put on a funny birthday song and brought out a crazy birthday hat for her to wear. It was hysterical and she laughed and blushed through it all.
They also had great music playing the whole cruise - just right!
It all made for such a special and unique and truly memorable evening! It was so much more memorable than simply sitting in yet another restaurant for dinner, especially considering we were in restaurants every day and night of our 11 day trip to Greece! This night was worth every penny and more! All 3 of us agreed that it was money well spent and we would do it all the same way again!
We could have saved money and gone out as part of a shared group. However, we've done private boats and shared in the past. And the two experiences are very different. The group can be fun. But we loved having the catamaran to ourselves... It's really a very special experience being out on the water with just your family or friends - and sometimes that difference can turn a "fun" experience - into an "unforgettable" experience...
The best part for my daughter, who is a sailor, is that she was allowed to steer the vessel for quite a bit of the sail coming in. She has such amazing memories from doing that. When else would she have an opportunity to actually sail a giant catamaran around the Greek Islands, steering it all on her own, Greek music softly playing in the background? The photos we have of her at the wheel - she is absolutely glowing - and it isn't just the sunset!
I can still close my eyes and feel the sunset as we sailed along the water and took in Mykonos and its surrounding Islands. It's such a different experience than you would ever get by staying on the land.
We can't thank Mykonos Catamaran enough for being a highlight of our trip - and possibly our favorite day and memory in all of our trip to Greece. We experienced some wonderful days and nights in Greece - so the bar is set high. But our daughter would tell you, hands down, that this was the pinnacle of our entire trip! And I speak for all of us when I sum it up with one word: Magical.

Rarity Gallery

Reviewed By Janly

Because of trip advisor reviews, my friend and I sought out this gallery. Because of the small winding streets in Mykonos, this may not be easy to find, so if you wish to go, plot out the location on a map before you head out. Lovely little art gallery with some of the most interesting, original sculpture I have ever seen.. Definitely worth it for a stop in to cool off from the hot sun and to take a bit of time enjoying some beautiful art. The owners were more than willing to teach visitors about the art and artists and they have taken time to provide a bit of a description next to each piece about the artist. Wish I had a home and wallet big enough to to take a piece home.

Dear Review Writers!
Everybody (!) around the world knows it! Sure, it's expensive, there, sure, because it's a world famous Island for "jet-setters", such as Madonna, Elton John & Robert de Niro. They do have villas on Mykonos, they are coming with their own yachts to Mykonos, every year, again and again. Really, it's the french "Côte d'Azur", it's "Monaco", it's the german island "Sylt" of the North Sea, it's the wellknown greek "Hot-Spot", "hightlight" for "uncomplicated champagne summer vacations", multicultural! It's not the right destination for "all included tourists"!
Unfortunately, I must say this now, after 21 years visiting Mykonos Island, more than 30 times. But, I can't hear it "any-more, any-longer", now!. "...... it's soooo expensive here!"
Do have a "delicious fresh fruits alcoholic cocktail" on the Promenade in Cannes, do have a bottle of "Dom Pérignon brut, Cuvée prestige" or Champagner "Crystal" on the Corniche of Abu Dhabi or in the trendy roof bar of the "Etihat Towers - on the 75th floor! You you think, it's cheaper, there? What do you believe?
"Mykonos is Mykonos", not Naxos or Crete or Rhode Island!
..... "Elia" is my preferred beach on Mykonos! There, you will find, what you want, what you would like to enjoy! Comfortable sun beds & umbrellas, a very clean & sandy, golden beach, the longest one of the Island, all Water Sports, like Jet Ski, and beach services of two wonderful restaurants, and very hard working joung men from Russia, Bulgaria, Albania .... to serve "you" on "your" sun bed, even with "spaghetti with lobster", champagne, cocktails, Vodka or a "Cappuccino"!
"Maria Z.", the wife of the owner of all this "beaches services" is a/the "institution" there, at "ESPUMA", "Capelayo" & "Arte&Mare Elia Suites"!
.... two weeks ago. after season, in October 2017, I didn't have any more cigarettes left on the beach. The beach-kiosk was closed already. What do you think? What did happen?
.... I had a delicious "Cappuccino" with a wonderful foam crown and brown sugar at Espuma, for € 4 - like every afternoon.
.... and SHE, "Maria" said: "Give me 30 minutes, please, one of my boys or drivers will get cigarettes for "you" from Ano Mera, from next town, 7 km far away!
€ 4,50 a packet of Malboro!
Is that expensive, also? No, that's just "Mykonos"! That's service!
That's the secret and reason, I do like and love "Mykonos"!!!
Enjoy your life & have a lot of fun, there!
You only have got one life and it's soooo short!

We had a half day with Nicholas and Claudia and we had a ball!
The communication from the initial booking right up until we arrived was first class.
We sailed along the coast and got a real look at the Beaches and coastline that you don't always see and in perfect weather conditions! I am not a great sailor but the trip was as smooth as silk and I never felt uneasy! Everything had been thought of from the delightful food, wine and other refreshments they served - even suncreams were provided in case you have forgotten your own and a spritzer to cool you down! During the trip we were able to talk to Nicholas and Claudia a little about the island and learn more about Mykonos- they were friendly but not intrusive - perfect.
At the end we were able to stop offshore from Kalo Livadi and go off the boat for a swim whilst being served beautiful fresh fruit. What more could you ask? We had a great time - thank you!

We had our own snorkeling gear and took their boat out. The reef we visited was cool. I would recommend this shop. It cost more than our resort advertised. Scuba diving is probably more fun since their reefs don't have a lot of color or fish.

Paradise Beach

It's not called "paradise" for nothing: a beautiful sandy beach with warm, clear waters.

Reviewed By LynneP - China Grove, North Carolina

We were here during the day, not evening, as we were staying on another side of the island. We rented a scooter to ride over here, so parking for us in the lot was very easy. Right outside the entrance to the beach is a small store where you can buy some drinks, etc. It's a short walk from the parking lot to the beach. Many chairs with cushions that include umbrellas. Not a lot of wind or waves here (at least in early Sept. for us). Not sure if the cove always keeps it that way. Music playing behind you in the restaurant/bar area. Can have drinks delivered to you at your chairs or go order at the bar. There are bathrooms at the restaurant. Nice, sandy beach area. There is a boat shuttle that you can take from other Beaches here too if you don't want to ride the bus or rent a scooter. Fun ride here though! So many small churches dotting the hillsides, etc. along the way.
