Top 10 Things to do in Ayia Napa, Cyprus

December 11, 2017 Rosalyn Ihle

This resort town, with its great beaches, has a bit of a Spring Break atmosphere (the parties start in the late afternoon and go all night). If dancing in a bikini is not your thing, though, no worries—you can explore a medieval monastery or enjoy cruises on the lovely blue water. Families will want to visit Water World, the biggest theme waterpark in Europe.

Mother Nature has excelled herself with the Outstanding Cape Greco and to help Locals & Tourists alike enjoy a cooling down swim or just sit and admire the great views she has created the Blue Lagoon. Breathtaking crystal clear Blue Turquoise waters are just the start of something that words cannot really do justice.

Cape Greco View Point

Reviewed By ANDYJ9750 - Wakefield, United Kingdom

This is an idyllic setting so near yet so far from the modern day excesses of aiya napa. The beauty of the peninsula was there for all to see including the cliffs with the wonderful natural arches, wild birds and flowers and, although it was January when we were there it was quite obvious what the Cape would be like during the springtime, a real place of beauty and peaceful sanctuary.

Konnos Bay

Reviewed By Vicky F - Liverpool, United Kingdom

We have been visiting Konnos for 12 years and it is a truly stunning area of Cyprus. Shallow warm water, clean beach, lifeguards, Water Sports, nice bar/cafe, newly built toilets and showers and a sun trap for those who want to bake! The only down side is that you have to arrive early to get a parking spot and sun loungers. In July August, you would have to be there by 10am to get anywhere near the place but it's worth it

Makronissos Beach

Reviewed By Sanja K - Novi Sad, Serbia

Apart from Nissi, for me this was the nicest beach. They are similar, except that here you don't have to walk too much in water to get to the deeper part, and shower is free(at Nissi you pay 1 euro)
The thing i did't like is the beach ''restaurant''.There aren't many thing to choose(hamburgers, sandwiches) and it's really bad.So i recommend bringing a snack or walking around to get some better food.

We really liked this beach. There were plenty of beds and room to move, unlike Nissi Beach which was a nightmare.

Sea Caves

Reviewed By Brianngog - Plymouth, United Kingdom

We were on the Fourth Leg of our Annual Walk and The Sea Caves were our Finish Point..........and what a Place to stop awhile and take in those breathtaking views. The way Mother Nature has utilised the Wave Power of the Mediterranean to create this special area is a wonderous thing. If you are in the East of the Island, then Sea Caves must be on your list of places to visit.if you do not see this phenomenon then you are missing out.

Cape Greco National Forest Park

Reviewed By 288rebecca - Tel Aviv, Israel

We visited this park on a sunny, clear day in October. It was easily accessible, the paths were well-marked, and the views were impressive. Make sure to visit the church located on the park grounds - the church itself is well maintained, and to the left of the entrance are stairs leading to a really beautiful grotto.

Located in the Cape Greko Nat'l Park, this natural rock formation is definitely worth seeing. The entire area is cordoned off as there is a large crack in the middle of the "bridge". I've seen pictures with people on the "bridge" but they must be older or from adventures fence hoppers.

The church here offers a lovely view and is quite lovely set on the rocks. Under the church is a cave which i have not been into for a good number of years and i am not sure if it is is still accessible where the Greek Orthodox Christians would hold mass in secret when Cyprus was under Turkish rule.

Ayia Napa Monastery

Reviewed By Charlie F

If you really want this to be a tourist attraction, you need to have more to look at e.g. open the cells up to view with a renovated one showing how it would have been used. There is one very flimsy leaflet available which explains that most of the relics have been stolen anyway and replicas are kept elsewhere. Not really worth the visit. The chapel was the only thing worth seeing and that was over very quickly.
