I transit through Zagreb often and usually stay in the hotels near the airport. I had read the reviews for Konoba Bukara but it is a bit of a far walk from the hotels closest to the airport. The menu is typical of Croatian restaurants - fish, beef, lamb and the restaurant is in the cellar, looks a bit like a wine cellar. The waiter was very hospitable and seemed to be the owner. Great grilled squid and the waiter recommended a marinated rumpsteak and my son said it was the best beef he ever ate.

Service was friendly and efficient. Sommelier extremely knowledgeable about the (rather wonderful) local wines. Try the Tomas orange wine if you haven't already.
Cod tripe unusual and interesting. Tartare steak was done perfectly, the pomegranate dessert - featuring mousse, sorbet and sugared seeds - very interesting indeed. Compliments to the chef. The millie-feuille needs some work to take it up a notch or two.
It's not cheap but it's very good. Enjoy.

Le Bistro has a strong heritage and history as the city's culinary innovator. Opened in 1986, as a small French type of restaurant, Le Bistro immediately took an important place in the everyday life of the capital. It was the first restaurant with the glass roof. Le Bistro hostesses were the first in town to wear silk uniforms. Also, Le Bistro was the first place where wine and champagne were served per glass. It is interesting that Le Bistro first served little chocolate with the coffee, and in 1989 Le Bistro was the first place in Croatia to serve the famous Italian dessert tiramisu and celebrate Valentine's Day. Today, this charming renovated restaurant is home to the legendary 'Esplanade Strukli' - traditional dish of Zagreb region - and the best in town! Le Bistro offers light breakfast, excellent coffee, awarded cakes, croissants, Menu du jour at just 22 EUR (3-course menu per Chef's choice with glass of house wine, coffee or tea), seasonal a la carte menu designed by celebrity chef Ana Grgic and seasonal promotional menus. Enjoy Le Bistro during breakfast, lunch or dinner inside or on the green Terrace. Open every day from 9 am - 11 pm
It’s located in Esplanade hotel. I like the window seats here. Very comfortable and likes I was in Paris .
Food is very good, especially the risiotto and steak tartar.
The veal is too salty , not tender enough.
Desert is not good . I had tiramisu : which looks good but soso taste. The famous local desert ( bake cheese ) not so yummy . Skip it! Don’t waste time
Food it’s expensive in Zagreb standard but worth coming .
2 adults and 1 kid ( no wine ) around 100 Euro

Thin crusty pizza, prepared in wood oven. Fresh basil, organic garlic, extravirgin olive oil. Interior that makes you wanna stay. Forever.
This pizzeria, my favourite in Zagreb, never leaves me disappointed. Besides pizza that is always excellent, the staff can't be more polite. ☺ if you like pizza with thin crust and delicous toppings of high quality, this will soon become your favourite pizza, too. ?

15 years coming to this ''Gavran'' pizza place. I have to admit that they have stable quality food and always friendly stuff . There is a good price-quality ratio and for this safety and quality I am very grateful to them! The ambience is old-fashioned , somewhat monotonous and boring! No service Delivery pizza , so offten commonly pizzas bring to our home and enjoy with family. if it occurred quality changes and refresh the interior, I am sure that I and my family were more frequently hosted in ''Gavran''(Raven).

Vagabund was opened in 1983 and spangles a tradition of 30 years. In Vagabund you can spend pleasent and warm moments, with available prices and kind personnel. Our offering is really big and we try to approach You with traditional way of food making. We started as pizzeria with recipes of one of the best chefs and till today we hold that tradition of delightful pizza which has a special taste. In 2007 we were proclaimed the best pizzeria in Zagreb. We are visited by manny distingushed musicians, academicians, lawyers, doctors, bohemians and manny other. In Vagabund people come to relax and enjoy in conversation and sound of rock music.
My wife and I just finished eating here and we both agree that the top rating (at least for pizza) is 2.5 - 3, tops.
She ordered a pizza that included shrimps. What she got was sliced, frozen 'crab sticks'. We went after a long hospital visit and only visited this restaurant because of the high rating here, but please believe me; it was very disappointing.

In search of the new place for casual family lunch, we came across some nice reviews about Babriga and decided to give it a chance. Babriga proved to be more than worth it, a real jewel with much to offer – GREAT food, friendly and relaxed atmosphere, hospitality with attention to every detail and lovely, authentic local interior. Chef Tomislav's recommendations turned to be an excellent choice and a real feast – juicy T-Bone steaks that come with delicious sweet potato with homemade fresh cheese cream, fried onion rings, BBQ sauce and refreshing salad of a choice, followed by a surprise specialty desert that you have to try for yourself. In one word, perfect. Unexpected modern and innovative approach, fusion of traditional menu and international cousine, unique and experience to remember. Highly recommended. We will definately visit Babriga again, with friends and familiy, looking forward to new surprises. Hvala, Tomislave, vidimo se uskoro.

For us from Zagreb, without car, not practical to reach. I've been there 3-4 times (last time few months ago) and this is good food, large portions, which I approve :-). the only thing... I've always came back because of their initial food: fish and chips. But it's gone now... I don't know why but there is no fish&chips over there... And it was REALLY GOOD, especially first time when chips were real potato. Second time it was pommes frittes which I didn0t like particular, it is approachable everywhere... Owner, if you read this: if you will make original fish&chips again, I will continue to come every now and then. If not - it's not worth to go all that way for your value... you are good, but...
