Harney & Sons Tea Shop & Tasting Room

Reviewed By dramom - River Edge, New Jersey

We so much enjoyed our visit to Harney & Sons Tea Shop and Tasting Room. Relaxed atmosphere. Small Tasting Room is in the back part of the Tea Shop. Big on creative meals and freshly brewed teas. Hearty lunch time choices: soups, salads, appetizers, hot and cold plates. We split a tea cheese sampler (tea cheeses broiled on crostini - wow!). I then had curry bowl while my friend had a 'Finn' - grilled cheddar on sourdough bread. Very satisfying, coupled with iced raspberry tea and my tea choice, apple cinnamon black tea, served in a small pot (2 teacups). What a great place to stop for a lunch that was anything but run of the mill!

People come a long way to eat at the Woodlands. They have the most varied menu in the region and it is all EXCELLENT! They have just about anything you could want in a fine restaurant including an amazing wine cellar. If you are in the area and want a great meal, try the Woodlands...but be smart and get a reservation.

Sweet William's Bakery hits all the right notes. The coffee and hot chocolate are delicious, and the cakes, buns, and assorted pastries are equally tasty with the perfect amount of decadence. The service and the feel are super friendly.

The White Hart

The more casual Tap Room, open daily for lunch and dinner, offers elevated British-inspired comfort food, and is led by beloved British Chef Annie Wayte.

Reviewed By FritzieMiami_FL - Miami, FL

This feels like a home away from home stepping into the front door. There are different dining experiences under one roof. My favorite is the Tap Room, which features traditional and local standard menu items. The produce is obtained locally from area farms, as well as some of the meats. The tap room is popular, lively, great food and drink, welcoming atmosphere. Provisions - a cafe probably mostly designed for in house guests also has tasty and imaginiative options for breakfast and lunch.

This place is great! The only problem is that this is a breakfast and lunch place only. But they do amazing breakfast sandwiches, good if you are On The Run!! Family friendly atmosphere, great for a good meal before a swim in the lake nearby.

When Pigs Fly Southern BBQ

Reviewed By Chris_Battersea - London, United Kingdom

Bennett has done an amazing job here at creating an authentic and welcoming BBQ-gumbo-southern cuisine informal bistro in the middle of the New England countryside. A warm and welcoming and tasty addition to the food scene or Inns/deli's/coffee shops... if you are in Sharon, drop by. If you are close - its worth the detour. Tasty beyond belief and yet very informal. (almost a take out place but with an eclectic informal seating area). the pulled pork and chicken was mouthwatering, the collard greens delicious and cornbread filling... sweet tea and wines available... a hearty and tasty local spot that you can't miss out on! as his saying goes.. 'put a little south in ya' mouth. LOL - friendly and delicious.

Chose The Farmer's Wife based on recommendations from Hillrock Distillery, 2.5 miles away.

Unassuming decor with delicious food ordered off the blackboard. Everyone loved their lunch. Limited seating but no problem at 2:30 pm on a Saturday. Friendly service.

Seems to be a popular destination with locals stopping in, and bike riders and motorcyclists passing thru.

Landmark: Next to Ancramdale Post Office.

Alerts: No Verizon cell service, and one outside public toilet in the rear that could be a problem in bad weather.

Manna Dew Cafe

518-789-3500

Reviewed By brianq741 - Brooklyn, New York

I've been to just about everywhere in Millerton, and Manna Dew consistently shows itself as the best option for dinner. It can be a bit busy at times (especially with a former competitor across the street now empty), but it's usually not too tough to get a table. I find pastas and seafood to be the relative strength here, along with the portion size. Food is certainly high end, but like pretty much everywhere in the area, the dress is reasonably casual.

Dinner with friends on Sunday. This is my second time at this restaurant. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The staff and owners are twenty thousand points above excellent, personable attentive and all around wonderful! In the summer pizza outside ....fantastic. Sunday great alfredo, hot, tasty almost too yummy if that's possible. Dessert's that are out of this world. We travel about an hour just to get there but soooo very worth it! We're going back soon! Thank you to Mizza's for fantastic dining experiences!
