We stopped here for dinner. I ordered the steak and shrimp combo and my wife had the cod special. I also had the French onion soup. Everything was very tasty. For the prices, it wouldn't kill them to add a few slices of bread. The restaurant has limited seating, so we always go there at opening time and it fills up in about 10-15 minutes. The service was ok, but not exceptional.

Very attentive waitress. The wine "special" was not cracked up to be what was advertised. Our appetizer was smaller in portion size, and our main course was good but the entire eating experience was not exceptional. Again, our waitress was the main memory.

The brick/stone buildings in this town are so well preserved. It is a paradise for history lovers, antique buffs and fans of old architecture. One must take a step back in time to relish the scenery. And so it is with the `The Anvil Pub & Grill, but that is not all, the Anvil is a place where couples can connect. Seriously, the place was packed with couples when I visited this place, their ages 30 – 60. They interacted pleasantly with one another as the place hummed with their conversations. Food was sizzling behind the counter, a hot pan over a large blue flame and experts in the culinary arts cooking their creations to perfection. Nearby a fire roared in the brick oven as the chefs cooked salmon upon the hot bricks along with other goodies in small cast iron pans. My steak came sizzling, juicy and tender. The meal was wonderful. The `Anvil truly is a place where one must take time to relish the food and the surroundings.

"The Vintage Café & City Deli is located on Washington Avenue about a ½ block south of the Historic Cedar Creek Settlement and shops. Open daily at 11 am with extended afternoon into early evening hours, this upbeat stylishly decorated café serves homemade soups, wraps, Panini’s, deli sandwiches and a variety of freshly prepared salads and deli salads from the deli case. Non alcoholic beverages, coffee, hot tea, wine and beer are also served. Available for small group gatherings mornings, afternoons and evenings. Call to schedule and reserve. In the summertime, the outdoor patio offers a scenic view of Cedar Creek for casual dining, a refreshing way to take in lunch or just relax in the afternoon".
I have eaten at this deli many times! This was the worse food I ever had! My daughter and I both ordered the special grilled cheese and cream of mushroom soup. We were delivered cold grill cheese with American cheese on them. I thought with a restaurant like this, in Wisconsin, cheese capital of the world, you would get a sandwich with real cheese not what they served. I asked them if we could have a sandwich with chedder cheese or some other kind and she said she would have to charge me more and it was just too bad! The total price for our lunch was 30.00. Will not be cack anytime soon!

When we visit, we love to have lunch here. The prices are reasonable, service good, food is wonderful! Both my husband and I had a bowl of soup this visit, the cherry cider, and a crepe to share. Best to not have a large group as the seating is crowded and there is usually a wait line.

Had lunch here during the Wine and Harvest festival. You order from the bar and take it to your table. I had the cheese ravioli with mushrooms. It was delicious with lots of mushrooms. My fiance had a steak sandwich which was also delicious and the portion was quite large. We would definitely go back.

We went for a quick lunch while visiting Cedarburg. We both had quinoa bowls which were hot , nutritious and good. My only complaint was that it had no atmosphere and so many small children. It was Spring break and I guess all the local moms decided to dine out. So very noisy!

Classic local bar that serves really delicious and unique foods. The jumbo hot shrimp, homemade chilli and burgers are amazing. Surprised by the enchiladas - really good. The roasted squash is to die for and available all year round - a unique side instead of fries. The short rib special is a ton of food and worth the value. Don't forget an Old Fashioned!

Lunched here with a friend. Service was friendly and helpful. Menu has a variety of choices. It's a bit of a deli plus a bar. They have prepared foods. I had their Asian salmon salad. It was mediocre. It had too much dressing. The salmon was too well done. The lettuce was nice but to large and hard to eat. Nothing made me want to go back.
