Tenedos (Greek: Τένεδος Tenedhos) or Bozcaada (Turkish: Bozcaada) is an island of Turkey in the northeastern part of the Aegean Sea. Administratively, the island constitutes the Bozcaada district of Çanakkale province. With an area of 39.9 km (15 sq mi) it is the third largest Turkish island after Imbros (Gökçeada) and Marmara. In 2011, the district had a population of 2,472. The main industries are tourism, wine production and fishing. The island has been famous for its grapes, wines and red poppies for centuries.

This place is in a lovely spot just on the beach, but the food is also very good. The first time we went we had grilled octopus with mezes which were really fresh (and there was a great selection), and we went back the following day and had excellent köfte. The staff were very friendly and it was just a great place to hang out for a couple of hours. It was also the only restaurant of several along the beach which was open in the first week in April.

If it is your first trip to Bozcaada reserve your place in this restaurant for the night. It is a nice way to say hello to the island. It's a family run place, meals are hearty , delicious, fresh. I always eat there on my first night on the island. Prices are reasonable, service is good.

We do not even want to give him one star because the owner Cenk was such an a...during our visit to his restaurant.
Here is our top story.
One of my close friend came from New York to visit me. He had a bottle of ouzo from Mykonos . I told him that we can drink this bottle at Batti Balik restaurant.
We went to the manager and asked for the corkage fee. The manager told us that he would charge us 30 tl to open it. We said fine. Then he came up to the table and told us that he would charge us 70 tl . We said okey to this one also. Then 5 minutes later he came up to the table with a bottle of Raki in his hand and asked us if it is okey to drink the raki instead of ouzo. He added if we do not do that he would charge 125 tl which is equivalent amount of opening a big bottle of raki at that restaurant.
We really thought it was some kind of a big joke. We told him that we already opened the ouzo and want to continue drinking ouzo.
Then the owner came to the table and told us that if we want to drink ouzo then we need to go to Mykonos. He was so rude and kind of raising his voice when he was talking to us.
To cut the long story short never ever go there . He is a crazy lunatic who is on speed or something..

I was inclined to try this place based on reviews and by walking by it in the afternoon and chatting to the waiter. It seemed very homely - like a Turkish taverna. And that's what we got. Home style cooking, with no fuss,but beautifully done, and very attentive service.

Located in the only gas station of Bozcaada. Nicely decorated. They serve pizza. Ada pizza is their special and worth trying. Made from herbs specific to island and sun dried tomatoes. Portions are big. One pizza would be enough for 2. Prices around 24 TL for a pizza.

We went Sandal for dinner when we cannot find a table on other places. They offered us a table from 20.00-21.30 which we accepted considering we have a child and were not very hungry. We selected a few mezes which they suggest and some fish. It took almost 30 mins to have the cold mezes which were already prepared considering small time frame we got. The mezes were not anything special as fish. On the other the street smelled oil and fish making an unpleasant experience. I do not suggest Sandal and others on the street.

We arrived in Bozcaada during the three day holiday (Bayram) following the end of Ramazan and restaurants were booked out, including this one. The owner, Saada Delen offered to phone another restaurant purely to help us, so we ate there. However, we managed to eat at ada'm the following night and were impressed. Mezze was the most inventive we have experienced in our three weeks in Turkey, including Istanbul (see photo). Mains were equally delicious.
Bozcaada is relatively unknown to foreign tourists so Saada kindly 'interpreted' the Turkish menu, suggesting favourite dishes.
A small restaurant that also has a Terrace with lovely staff. Recommended.

Indoors and outdoors tables for 30 at most,lokal selection of wines cheaper than big cities,food includes fresh fish,mezes worth trying,wandering gypsy musicians plays local songs,don't tip so they may leave your table and ears....or tip several times not to let them leave...........
