The 9 Best Things to Do in San Teodoro, Italy

July 19, 2017 Osvaldo Hartline

San Teodoro is a typical seaside Sardinian town, with lovely beaches, great restaurants, and a giant flock of pink flamingos. Well, maybe those flamingos aren’t so typical… but they’re certainly distinctive! Visit the San Teodoro Lagoon between beach excursions to see them and other rare birds.

We visited this beach as part of a jeep safari tour. It was beautiful. The water was really clear and there were sand bars for the children to walk on and the sea wasn't too deep for a good distance. Lovely white sand and little fishes swimming around.
We will return and stay longer.

For me, the best beach wich I visit on Sardinia (I am visit: La Cinta, Lu Impostu, Cala Brandinchi, Grand Pevero, Spiaggia della Principe, Capricciolli, Budoni, Teurredda and Su Giude). Nature is beautifull, and if you lucky you can catch three shadow! Wather is cristal clear without grass with Emerald colour. You got amazing view on beautifull Isola Tavolara and bay Olbia. This is sandy beach. Not too crowded (7.july ). This is small beach bar without chair with panini, sendwiches, icecream, coffe, cold drinks...Also you can rent boat for self excursions and swiming or diving. Price is 120 euro per half day and 180 euro per all day. Parking cost 2 euro per hour.

Visited La Cinta beach while staying in San Pantaleo recently. Beach is lovely but very busy. Well maintained with plenty of eating options. Only problem was there was a DJ spouting forth over a microphone and rap music was being played the entire day, very loudly!!! Not conducive to a relaxing afternoon.

Parking was free which was nice but I struggle to understand how they justify charging you to park on dried mud! Just an off-road experience! This beach was very busy, it was difficult to find somewhere to sit and when we did someone pitched there umbrella over our tent! There are much better Beaches. We were disappointed as we chose to go after Reading a recommendation in the local tourist info guide maps. Lots of beach vendors, no facilities.

Firstly the good stuff; the boat trip around the lagoon was fun. We saw flamingos, cormorants, tern and some ducks. We stopped on the beach and the host showed us a number of the plants. She was very knowledgeable about the lagoon and the life within.
Ok, so the less good. There aren't many tours so it's worth knowing the times ahead (and probably phoning to book in the high season).
We asked at the tourist info how to get there without a car. In actual fact you could walk along the beach as far as the lagoon and wait for the boat then negotiate that way, but we were told to get the local bus one stop then walk to where the boat leaves from. This involved walking down the main highway a significant way, parts of which had no pavement. It was dangerous, and we felt we were left with little choice as the bus back was several hours away. It was a fair distance in the heat with nothing on the way to look at or stop at. The lagoon itself (and where the boat departs from) is not somewhere you can walk to. Go by car or walk along the beach and wait for the boat tour then ask to join it.

2 hours long ride along the San Teodoro lagoon, where wild birds are enjoying their life and fishes are jumping out of water. Spectacular views over Tavolara island and La Cinta beach are especially impressive during the sunset. Perfect value for 35 Euro!

With so many spectacular Beaches in the area this beach seems more average. It is smaller and quieter than many but the boat hire section occupies almost a quarter of the seashore. Lovely views of Molara and Tavolara and a great spot to hire a boat for sightseeing and snorkelling.

In 10 days on Sardinia, this was the most beautiful beach! It takes about 30min walk across the stones along the beach, but the result it is a beautiful beach, crystal clear water and absolutely no people! In the high season, there were max 15 people on this beach. It's really worth a visit. Wear good shoes, take enough water with you and enjoy peace and wonderful water.

cala ginepro near punta molara in the surounding of san teodoro is not realy nice for swimming. snorkelers may have fun there, because the small stoney beach is framed by rocks.
