The place is nice, calm and relaxing, but the owners are anything but relaxing. They are rule fanatics. However if they screw up, the rules do not apply to them. We were there in plenty of time for our 6pm soak, but they did not let us into our private room until 6:10, and then kicked us out promptly at 6:50, giving us 40 min when we paid for 50. The husband is a bit of a sanctimonious forkwit who blamed his wife for the screw up. Real classy. Plus they charge extra for a crummy towel, 2$ each.

Featuring everything from the area's local history, this carefully curated cultural museum will shock you with how much they have and how the rooms just go on and on and on. Well worth spending some time there if you don't know anything about Truth or Consequences or the region.

Land of Enchantment Fishing Adventures is located just off I-25 in Elephant Butte, NM near Truth or Consequences, NM. Frank is knowledgeable, helpful, and a great guy to have as your guide. He runs his business in a professional, yet casual manner. If you enjoy canine company, Frank's RR "Anchor" is a willing and capable fishing companion. He and Frank helped us to achieve the maximum benefit of our time spent fishing with them. Never a dull moment and plenty of action. Lots of fish caught while we were out. Wear appropriate clothing for fishing off a boat, and it is advisable to wear sunscreen and a hat. Bring your own drinks and snacks if desired. We fished the afternoon we arrived there, and then again the following morning. Plenty of time for a great experience!

Snuggled just six miles from the base of Turtleback Mountain and sprawling throughout the wide open landscapes of the high desert, Sierra Del Rio honors the majestic spirit of the wild southwest. Located in Elephant Butte, NM within the 1,000 plus acres of Turtleback Mountain Resort, Sierra Del Rio Golf Course, is an 18-hole championship facility with full amenity clubhouse. Sierra Del Rio is home to the New Mexico Shootout where players such as Nancy Lopez, Natalie Gulbis, and Rosie Jones have challenged the course.
With a rather limited menu, this restaurant has much improved under new management. Weather permitting, sit out on the deck and enjoy your food while overlooking the beautiful golf course. Located in the small desert town of Elephant Butte, NM, the green manicured turf is a pleasant escape for dinner. The food is good and the full bar is enjoyable in the evening.

Very small town with impressive Veterans Memorial! Hats off to the Curator! He is an amazing, organized and thorough person who has amassed a great collection! I was particularly impressed with the buttons representing different wars and battles--hundreds of them meticulously mounted and documented. Even if you are not a Veteran or a war buff, this is a gift! There is no admission. The volunteer was not very helpful, but when my husband made a big effort to engage him, he opened up and was more receptive. With these kinds of places, it's all about the volunteers. They can bring a place alive and make even the dullest displays relevant. Unfortunately, this volunteer was there mainly just to keep the place open. Even that is appreciated!
There's a helicopter outside mounted high on a metal palm tree--pretty amazing!

We stayed 2 nights in Palomino site 4 in our travel trailer. Full hookups. We were greeted by the park hosts and they were so helpful, friendly and welcoming. Campsites were incredibly clean and they worked on the grounds our entire stay. We enjoyed incredible lake views. Nice walking trails , quail, finches, roadrunner, Jack rabbits all passed by the camper regularly. We'll be back.

We love hot mineral springs and enjoyed taking a self-guided walking tour of the Hot Springs Bathhouse Historic and Commercial district.
Get a map online or at the tourist office; the staff working at the tourist office were very friendly and helpful. We toured the hot springs hotels & bath houses and also visited art galleries, shops and cafes. It was an easy walk and a fun way to spend an afternoon in Truth or Consequences.

This is a nice little City park on the Rio Grande River where you may walk your dog or just take a stroll. There is a playground for children, picnic tables and a public bathroom. A good place to stop and take a break and eat your picnic lunch.
