This was a gift experience (wine tasting) for which I was very grateful - and overall based on the people we met; it was very enjoyable.
Unfortunately, there's no getting away from the fact that the CD wines in most part are pretty terrible to average.
The sparkling wines are the main attraction but of course those are rationed and there was very little emphasis placed on tasting these as the main part of the experience.
The wine tasting was communal, seated at group tables; which is fine - but it meant the lunch was also a group affair. As most people were attending in couples - or had bought it as a couples event, it limits how the whole thing can be enjoyed. Weird.
The presenter was amiable but didn't make use of the tasting cards on the tables or encourage participation. It's more of a demo than a tasting. Also there's the hard sell on vine leasing and the new brewery opening soon...
The food was excellent but extremely paltry. No bread. One glass of (still) wine was included but then no offer of any additional, which seemed odd.
The shop was being refurbed, so avoided it - besides the wines are very expensive for what they are. Will try Nyetimber for comparison.

Kent & East Sussex Railway

The K&ESR opened in 1900 as England’s first ‘light railway’, serving the rural communities of East Sussex and Kent. Closing to passengers in 1954, the line was saved and reopened by a charitable organisation in 1974. It now operates steam hauled and diesel observation trains on a 10.5 mile line from Bodiam Castle in East Sussex to the historic market town of Tenterden in west Kent.

This was a great experience. The staff were amazing and professional, the service impeccable, the food was very tasty. There was a great jazz band, dancing, fireworks, Father Christmas and presents. A great time and all timed to perfection. Thank you to everyone who gave up their night to make this event happen.

The High Street

A very attractive small market town with plenty of independent shops and small cafes. A beautiful High Street with a lovely tree lined avenue and greens, and an abundance of historic buildings to gaze at including a fabulous 11th century church. Grab a ride on one of the steam trains from Tenterden Town Station and take in the lovely views of the unspoilt surrounding countryside as the train trundles down the track. The title "Tenterden, the Jewel of the Weald" is richly deserved. Free car parking in Bridewell Lane car park every Sunday and on Bank Holidays

There are chain shops but there are a good selection of independent antique shops, clothing, hardware etc. Buses service the high street and there are markets on Friday

Having some time to spare, we popped into the museum. As the only ones there, we had a good chat with the gentleman on the desk. Nice to have things explained in detail when needed.
Always worth spending a few pounds to help these small places, and keeping local history going.

Col.Stephens Railway Museum

Reviewed By therichastill - Stevenage, United Kingdom

Having previously visited the East Kent Railway I was aware of Colonel Stephens however I did not realise how many Railways he constructed.
The museum gives you an insight into the life of this engineer as well as displays about the Railways themselves including maps, dioramas and sadly closure notices.
In addition outside the museum is a replica of one of the rail cars Colonel Stephens used to get about.
Well worth checking out if you visit the Kent & East Sussex Railway. It's free to visit but very worthy of a donation!

We stumbled across this lovely little shop whilst sightseeing during a weekend away. Staff were extremely friendly, especially the manager who couldn't have made us feel more welcome. She made me a lovely cup of coffee. Her tea making leaves a bit to be desired though.....
I would recommend Dottydiva to anyone wanting to spruce up a room, upcycle tired furniture or looking for a gift for an old friend. 10/10
