Grapevine Historic Main Street District

I take mini vacations often. I’ll take a day, find a nearby old town and “window” shop. Grapevine Texas is one of the places I go. Yesterday, I spent about 6 hours walking the main strip in old, historic Grapevine. It was decked out for St Patrick’s Day. I found a street gender with jerky. The farmers market offered unique kiwi berries and local honey. I bought a wonderful spiced tea soap and lotion at Grace. An outfit for Bass Hall was found in a boutique. I was disappointed that the store that had metal yard work was closed. I had a wonderful time here, enjoyed the rain, the people, the shops and the experience. I’ll be back.

The food is better, you can tell it's actually prepared and not microwaved or previously frozen. I love the cleanliness and the size of the seats and the aisles. I love that the seats are far enough back that you aren't too close to the screen like at Rave. The place was built for the type of seating it was intended for and not a remodeled afterthought. I would order the juicy grilled burger again!

Staff was very friendly and helped squeeze us in right at closing time on a Sunday afternoon. Interactive stamp machine kept the kids intrigued and looking forward to the next room or sea life. Tunnel with glass ceiling & floor was awesome; the kids could not get enough and a bathroom was conveniently placed in the middle of the tour! The educational video at the end was a welcomed break for the parents and very enlightening for the kids. It was also very cool that they had a station at the very end that was interactive and allowed you to give your opinion on what wildlife the company should work with next. Would gladly spend a couple more hours here again on our next vacation. well Done Sea Life!

This was my second time to ride at Marshall Creek, taking family and friends from overseas that wanted a 'trail ride' experience! From booking to the price point and the well behaved horses (Except Maverick - who likes to snack! :-) ) it was well worth the 45 minute drive from SW Fort Worth. I did the evening trail ride that usually ends with us seeing fireflies in the wooded area as we head back - Magical!!
Would definitely go again!

My aunt and uncle, who are locals, took us to this place. You can see the planes take off from Dallas Fort Worth International here. There is a small park with a small free parking lot. Kids of any age would love this, especially considering you cannot get this close to most airports.

There are no restrooms or food for purchase. It is wheelchair and stroller friendly.

Urban Air Trampoline Park

Reviewed By Swimfins - San Salvador, El Salvador

I took the kids to Urban Air about a year ago and being back in the area took them again this week. They still loved it!

It was fairly busy but not overly so. However, there was plenty of space for all the kids to jump and the Warrior Path line wasn't too long.

I like that they changed their pricing scheme since last year. You now get a 2.5 hour pass with everything included vice a 2 hour pass and paying extra for the Warrior activities. While at $20 per kid it's a little expensive with three, I didn't feel like I was getting "nickled and dimed" by add-ons. Too, the 2.5 hour time slot was just right for my kids.

Once a lonely little park, this is now a magical place with many hidden surprises. Lovely pathways lines with trees, flowers and plants, bubbling water, koi fish, bridges, a green house, a composting learning center, and an oak tree older than the United States. All under shady trees, dappled sun and lots of room to roam. Many a photo has been taken here -- graduations, engagements, family portraits. You can rent the Bessie Mitchell House attached to the park for events and meetings. A great playground and picnic area is next to the gardens, which are beautiful year-round.

Wanted to check out a product at one of the stores and headed over against my better judgement. Didn't realize it was this big until I got there. Plenty of store selection and there is a good court available. Be prepared for a crowd and be ready to walk if need be. It suits the purpose just fine, but I can be quite a curmudgeon about these places.

Dragon Stadium

Reviewed By CraftBeers - Plano, Texas

Dragon Stadium is home of the Southlake Carroll Dragons. It's located in the city of Southlake just off Kimball Ave. Dragons are a juggernaut football team with a fanatical following. They have won numerous state titles and dozens more regional and state finalist awards. The women and men's soccer teams have had their fair share of accolades.

Carroll Dragons love their team. The feeder school system is interesting. All the elementary and middle school feeders are dragons. They all have the same mascot. Kids start kindergarten as a dragon, and graduate high school as a dragon.

The stadium itself is nice. It hold about 11,000 people. The home seating is clearly nicer than the opposing team seating. The press box behind home seating is enclosed with two separate levels of viewing for coaches, media and administration. While there are nice looking individual seats on the home side, they are not comfortable. Bring a cushion. Your backside will hurt after a four hour game. The student seating and away team seating are aluminum benches. I would bring a stadium seat for cushion and back support.

The field is artificial turf and looks really nice. They have a large scoreboard with screen featured in the center. The stadium is used for Dragon football and soccer. Senior graduation is held on the field as well. The parking lot right in front of the main gates are where tailgating happens. It's a big deal with the dragons. People go out Thursday night or at dawn on Friday and set up tables, chairs and tents to grab a spot. Parking in that lot can be difficult with all the tents and tailgating.

Traffic in and out of the stadium is reasonable, but expect long lines and allow plenty of time. Getting in is much easier than getting out. The police very much control the traffic. You will be forced in a direction, so use your maps to figure out where to go once you get past the police.
