Estrella Warbird Air Museum

Estrella Warbirds Museum is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of military aircraft, vehicles and memorabilia of those who flew and worked in the military aviation field. Our approach, however, is not to glorify conflict but rather to make a future generation aware of the fact our way of life does not come without sacrifice. Founded over 25 years ago by two men with two airplanes and a strong desire to see an aviation museum in Paso Robles, California, little did they realize how far and how rapidly their initial dream would carry them. Today, located on over 13 acres of land, situated on the Paso Robles Municipal Airport grounds, the Estrella Warbirds Museum is one of the fastest growing non-profit museum on the west coast. The museum has become an intregral part of the Paso Robles community attracting visitors from around the world.

The 100% estate-grown wines are sustainably farmed on westside limestone soils. Tradition and innovation mix at Halter Ranch to produce Bordeaux and Rhone wines of the highest quality.

My wife and I revisited Halter Ranch in Paso Robles since it is one of our favorites. The cabs are excellent, the syrah very good as well as the Grenache and Rose. Located on Adelaida Road near some other fine wineries, this should be on your list of places to visit while in Paso. The wine pourings are sufficient and the cost of a tasting very reasonable.

The tasting room offers beautiful views and there is also outside patio seating, weather permitting.

Beautiful winery both on the grounds and inside. The metal sculpture is beautiful. The wines are a little more unusual varieties and the are moderately priced. They did not represent as many wines as I would have expected. The wine we bought was a wonderful red blend and is one of their signature wines, very good.

Eberle Winery

In 1973, Gary Eberle began his career in the wine industry by heading his family's Estrella River Winery (currently 360 Degrees in Paso Robles) and produced 500,000 cases a year at its facility. Eberle's pioneering spirit didn't stop there. In 1980, he co-founded the Paso Robles Appellation and in 1983, Gary opened the doors to his own Eberle Winery with the premiere of Eberle's 1979 Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, Eberle handcrafts 25,000 cases of wine each year from surrounding Estate vineyards. And, after more than 33 years since the release of the Eberle label, the winery consistently remains one of the highest award-winning wineries in the United States. The German name "Eberle" translates to "small boar." At Eberle Winery, a bronze boar greets every guest who visits the Tasting Room. The statue is the 93rd replica of the original bronze Porcellino cast by Tacca in 1620. And today, the original can be found in the straw market in Florence, Italy. It is considered good luck to rub the boar's nose and toss a coin in the water below. Guest enjoy complimentary wine tasting and cave tours daily. Reservations for VIP Tour & Tasting, groups of 8 or more guests or reserve tastings please contact in advance.

Seems like this winery/vineyard has its act together! Beautiful vineyard, friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff with very good wines. We ended up with their Reserve Cab, Chardonnay and Syrah, but the rest of the wines on their tasting flight are pretty good too - did I say the tasting is free? Good marketing but beyond just marketing, the staff seems genuinely passionate about what they do and about the wine industry around Paso. They freely gave out recommendations/shout outs to their "competitors" and shared their knowledge of the area. I guess when one is confident of one's own product, it shows. In particular, shout out to Justin, a knowledgeable young lady who is very passionate about wine making, and the wine industry... and the good life! Thanks for the recommendations on where to visit/have meals etc... great recommendations!

The cave tour is interesting too - it happens every half hour I think, or when there is a large enough group of folks... nice to walk through the area to get a sense of what they do...short but interesting. Along the way we passed by a small alcove with a table being set up for a VIP wine and cheese pairing - apparently, wine club members get to book the special VIP sitting, where one is treated to wine and cheese with pairings, something that non members have to pay (I think) $35 for. Another good deal!

Being welcomed by the 2 beautiful poodles is also a bonus! Beautiful dogs! I think their grooming cost more than my haircut (and they have better "barbers" too!)

The Opolo Vineyard has some excellent wines. One of our favorites is the Viogner which unfortunately they had just sold out of, however their Chardonnay was wonderful too. Along with their Zinfandel. Adelaida Cellars

Adelaida Cellars' family owned vineyards include seven distinct properties totaling 168 acres in the craggy mountainous terrain of Paso Robles' Adelaida District. Only 14 miles from the Pacific Ocean on steep elevated sites, a diverse planting of 24 varieties with an emphasis in Rhônes, old vine pinot noir, dry farmed zinfandel, and mountain style cabernet sauvignon, our stressed vines produce low yields of precise flavor.

We have spent loads of time in the Sonoma/Napa area, but only one day before in the Paso Robles region. We are here for two days and this was our first winery. We did the reserve tasting, which was private, and served with a beautiful, locally sourced cheese and charcuterie board. WHICH WAS EXCELLENT. Glenn did our tasting and was simply superb. We leaned SO much about the winery, its history (which is such a great story), and more. We could not leave without a few bottles of Adelaida's incredible wines. We LOVED this place, and it is also a beautiful winery physically. Be sure not to miss it!

If you’re looking for relaxing winery, you could stop here. They have a nice wide porch with tables where you can sit and enjoy some wine and look at the Vineyards. The wine tasting room is comfortable with big windows where you can see the vines. The wine tastings are free! They have pretty decent wines and we bought two bottles while we were there. They have a small gift shop with moderately priced items. They do not sell food, so bring some of your own if you would like to enjoy some cheese and crackers with your wine. I was impressed that they gave us crackers along with our free tastings. The servers were very friendly very helpful and fun to talk to. Parking is free and there’s plenty of parking.Overall it was a nice experience.
