This is the widest temple in Bagan built by King Narathu. It is said that he ascended the throne after killing his father and built this temple to make amends with the Gods.He himself was killed by foreign invaders before he could complete the temple. Yet another nice temple of Bagan.

MBoutik

MBoutik is a social Enterprise initiative by ActionAid Myanmar and the business of Myanmar Women Craft Producers Association (MWCPA).

Reviewed By Rual L - Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar

For me, this M-Boutik is one of the best program for women economic empowerment for the rural women in Myanmar with a very tangible result. Even as a local person I truly enjoy the shop and the products. Every time I visit, there is new products with new design and I end up buying lots but they are always useful as I don't have to shop again for gifts. The best part is you spend money but you know that it is for economic empowerment of most vulnerable women living in rural area of Myanmar.

Gubyauknge Temple

Reviewed By Asian_Wanderer888 - München, Deutschland

At first the temple seemed locked up and I was taking photos of the outside stucco work, when a friendly lady living nearby opened the temple. With a good flashlight there are nice paintings inside as well as Buddha statues. It's a quiet temple. Nobody else was around, so they allow you plenty of time to look at the paintings. A little donation is also welcomed by the caretakers of the temple.

Yadana Man Aung Pagoda

Reviewed By HelenaGuerra - Washington DC, District of Columbia

This pagoda was part of our boat tour in the InIe Lake. From outside it looks beautiful but the entrance is the only nice thing about it. The interior is very poor and there are lots of vendors trying to obligate you to leave your shoes with them (you can carry the shoes, locals do that). And they also charge you to take pics. It is not worth the money.
I recommend a quick stop, 10 minutes is more than enough.

Bagan is the first capital of Myanmar Empire and an area of 42 sq-km.Bagan is not only famous for the monuments but also can study the ways of people and some handicraft such as lacqueware and wood carving. We had a deep introduction to architecture and religious history with a fantastic guide, Lilly, recommended to us by New Wave Hotel.Lilly helped make sense of the temples, stupas, and pagodas we saw. We chose bicycles and she even rode one of us on back of bicycle. This was a fantastic learning experience for us and put meaning to the wonder around us.

It is social business suporting various community social projects across Myanmar such as disadvantaged children,HIV Positive etc. Their products are with nice innovative designs and very different from all Bagan souvenirs shops. I bought few marmelades from local fruits, coffee And small bag. I definitely recommend to check this place out and do some good deeds.
