Itanagar(/ˌiːˈtɑːnəɡər/; pronunciation (help·info)) is the capital of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Itanagar is administered independently by a Deputy Commissioner and the police department functions under the charge of a Superintendent of police and the jurisdiction of Deputy Commissioner is referred as Itanagar capital complex. The new seat of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly is located in Itanagar close to the newly built Arunachal Pradesh Civil Secretariat. Itanagar is also the seat of Government of Arunachal Pradesh and Gauhati High Court permanent bench at Naharlagun.

Arunachal Pradesh borders the states of Assam and Nagaland to the south and shares international borders with Bhutan in the west, Myanmar in the east and is separated from China in the north by the disputed McMahon Line. Itanagar is the capital of the state.
