Excelsior is a city on Lake Minnetonka in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. As of the 2010 census the population was 2,188, and in 2016 the estimated population was 2,316. The suburb is located 18 miles (29 km) west of downtown Minneapolis.

The Tonka Toys headquarters was originally in Mound, but moved to facilitate material deliveries. Mound is about twenty miles west of downtown Minneapolis, the county seat.
