This a very nice restaurant with atmosphere. We have had breakfast and lunch here and both are delicious. The prices here are very fair and portions are big. Service is also very good. For lunch try the complete Turkey dinner. It is my wife's favorite meal.I prefer the pancakes. they are out of this world.

Choate Bridge Restaurant

Perhaps the best on the North Shore...nothing "fancy"...pub food...outstanding and wait staff equally outstanding. Everything is beyond good...but burger, fried clams, and lobster roll...nothing better...ANYWHERE...clam chowder looks great...will do next time! Must say...Farnhams and Woodmans...give it up for the Choate Bridge fried clams...it doesn't get any better. Love this place...almost forgot!!...french fries...incredible.

Winfrey’s had a wide variety of fudge and chocolates as well as some hard candy.

I found the chocolate pricey. I got a bag of butterscotch sugar-free hard candy at $4.50.

The candy was very good. The butterscotch flavor was intense. I really liked it.

I rate Winfrey's Fudge & Chocolates at 4.50. I would return again when in Rowley.

I love octopus and I try it when I see it on a menu. That being said, I've had some really great octopus and not so great. Ithaki's version definitely falls into the excellent category!
Served with a warm fava hummus, YUM!!! I got this as a small plate and it would have been sufficient for a meal. I added the falafel which I also love(another small plate) and the homemade hummus was fabulous. I was so full from the octopus that I only had one falafel-my hubby got to eat the rest-it was very good. I would def try other menu items next time around. My husband got the salmon and he raved about it. This place is a little pricey but I don't mind spending more when the quality of food is excellent. Service was good. Warm bread with a tomato/olive/red pepper pesto(I'm guessing at the ingredients as I didn't ask) was also excellent. Will definitely go back! My last time here was many years ago-had a great experience then as well. This place will go back on my radar based on this experience.

So many flavors...you will have a hard time choosing! They offer both hand scooped and more soft serve flavors than I've ever seen. Frappes, sundaes, banana splits, and more. Everyone will find something on their menu. There is also mini golf, shaded tables to eat at, and an attached restaurant for sandwiches, salads, and burgers. My favorite is the Cocojamocha! Generous portions and fair prices.

Okay--let's just start by saying this isn't that fruitcake that keeps being passed around from year to year--this is a fresh-made, delicious molasses-rich, fruit-studded cake that will take you back 100 years and you'll still find it delicious! There are many other offerings, such as scones and muffins and breads. All are lovingly made by (I want to say Doug?) the dedicated owner. Try this place for fresh bread, if you haven't already been warped by factory bread! You'll love it.

Agawam Diner

Reviewed By Maurene_K - Dover, New Hampshire

The Agawam Diner was built by the Fodero Dining Car Co. in 1954. It’s in great condition. The red leatherette booths and counter stools are classic diner décor.

This diner has a great location at the junction of US Route 1 and Massachusetts Route 133.

I’d eaten here before. On the visit, I stopped by for supper en route home from visiting a friend on the South Shore.

I ordered the Scallop Roll at $15.99. With tax, it was $17.00.

It was a bout a 15-minute wait for my food. The dozen scallops were about the size of quarters and were done perfectly to a light golden color. They were hot, moist, and tender. The roll was toasted nicely. The French fries were also done perfectly. The coleslaw was lightly dressed. Portions were generous. I was unable to eat more than half my meal. I took scallops, coleslaw, and fries home.

Service was good. The place was clean.

Everything was very good. I really enjoyed my meal here. I would eat here again.

A man at a neighboring table had the Native Fried Clams. Like my own fried seafood, his clams were done perfectly. He said they were really good. Someone else had a cheeseburger. That looked great. That man said it was excellent.

I rate the Agawam Diner at 4.50.

Clam Box of Ipswich

Reviewed By GeorgiaSerendipity - Georgia

I didn't think I liked whole-belly clams, but the lady next to us in line said the trick is to ask if they're small. These were, and they were delicious. Perfect fries, crispy lightly-battered "o" rings, and more. Prices are high, but that's a reflection of wholesale prices and great quality, plus these folks change the cooking oil every day. Love a family business, and this one is a gem. Loads of atmosphere, fun locals... what better?

Village Restaurant

Reviewed By bbwex - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The Village Restaurant has been around for a long time, but the food was no better than average. We started with some onion rings which were OK but nothing better. Wedge salads were very good. The haddock Rockefeller was pretty good, but the fried haddock and fried shrimp were ordinary at best. Our server, Laurie, was very helpful and friendly, but the kitchen just didn't give her the backup she needed.
