We went after seeing all the good reviews. It was raining pretty hard and there was not room inside to wait. We ordered at the window. It took a little over an hour to be served while others were getting food in five minutes. We asked about the chili cheese fries before ordering and the woman told us it would be enough for 4 people. It was enough for 4 small fries for each person which is nowhere near the amount that we expected. The burgers where very thin and mostly bun and where very flavorless. Would never eat here again. I was very disappointed because I thought it would be good based on other reviews.

PURCHASE OUR GUATEMALAN IMPORT PRODUCTS TO HELP SEND PROCEEDS TO THE MISSIONS IN Guatemala. By purchasing our Import products, you are helping the Guatemalan people in many ways. First you help put monies into the Mayan economy. This provides economic opportunities for entire villages that otherwise have very little hope. Secondly, proceeds from your purchase go back to the missions in Guatemala that provide a much needed medical service and supply. But most important, understand it is our primary task to reach each Guatemalan with the "Good News" of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
It's been awhile since I've eaten at this small restaurant and I honestly can't remember what I had to eat. What I do remember was the great fun and belly laughs that I enjoyed from the uneven cement/sidewalk where our outdoor table sat...er...wobbled. My chair was just as bad. It actually sat back more than it should have. Picture this...each time I tried to sit up straight in the crooked chair to take a bite....the table would wobble the opposite direction. LOL....what fun! Well, really, I live in a small town and thrills are few!

Garden Deli is hidden under the cool shade of its trademark weeping willow tree on Burnsville's historic Town Square. We offer a lush garden setting for outside dining either under our tree, or under a covered deck 6 months out of the year. We also offer a full-size dining room inside with natural wood walls, hand-made lanterns, and oil paintings of local landscapes. We have a fireplace and a cozy atmosphere during the colder months, as we are open year-round.
We were riding through several small towns in the area, enjoying the mountain views and were glad to find this wonderful restaurant. The word deli doesn’t really describe their dinner menu. My husband had a steak that he said was very tender and perfectly seasoned. It included 2 sides and bread and was only $13.95. My roast beef sandwich was piled really high and was very moist and tasty. The place was packed but service was still personable and quick. The menu is interesting and has a good variety. Prices range range from $8 to $20.

We were on a road trip around several states and dropped into this place for lunch.
I had the best salad ever! It had fresh greens (real greens, not iceberg) and lots of veggies and chicken and feta cheese and more. It was great and had a great price.
Bonus: This place also had the softest toilet paper!

Thank you Tripadvisor for steering me to Spruce Pine for a surprisingly fun and delicious meal. The Hubby (meat guy) and I (vegan) showed up on Sunday for brunch. Loved eating at Helen's. Our main reason for stopping was because the restaurant has my mom's name. The food, service and location is great. The owner came out to chat with us to ensure we were enjoying our meal and service. What can you say about a place that makes their own homemade potato chips. Wonderful!

In the area to see Penland School of Crafts and decided to try out this new restaurant. Glad we did. Glad to see that the menu had some different offerings than many Mexican restaurants. The salsa bar was amazing and thus we tried six different salsas. My fav was the avocado. We also enjoyed the yummy complimentary bean dip. The service was very friendly and responsive. Our entrees were so good that we all overate, happily. The restaurant has loads of rustic character. Prices were reasonable. We would definitely return if we are in the area.

We were at wells Fargo nearby and the teller recommended DT's . I was very disappointed. First, I ordered the special of the day which was a meat ball sub.
It was a half sized sandwich for 7.29. It should have been 4.99 . small sub. at full priced.
We ordered a cup of water and was charged 35 cents!!! I complained to the cashier, and told her she should have told us they were going to charge us for water. It was tap water!! I will inform the teller at Wells Fargo to not recommend this café.. terrible

After finding this great restaurant, we ate there every day of our stay in Bakersville. The food is delicious, home cooked and very reasonable prices. I had the veggie omelet every morning. Loved this place!
