Well , we went to this restaurant tonight for my wife's birthday, on the premise of the buffet that is advertised on the website for , The Spice Club. We got there and whilst the equipment for the buffet was out there was no buffet on. We were advised that it will be back on later in the year, that is not what the website says!
Also this place charges you a 2% surcharge for using eftpos, not a credit card but eftpos. I have never seen this before, very greedy of them. Plus if you want garlic on
any bread, then that will be 50c extra.
The beef dish was tough, the chicken dish was fine. There are better options in Frankston for Indian food, the spice club used to be the best in Frankston , it no longer is.

Thai Beach Cafe

Right near the beach and the railway station, the shopping centre has a holiday resort feel. The Thai cafe adds to the holiday feel. The proprietor brought me chilled water right away with the meunu. The prices are very good. The food is varied and healthy, but be warned, you have to ask for chillies, as the default is "mild". I selected a seafood salad and was impressed. It was mostly prawns, mussels, squid and some fish in a salad that included bean shoots and lettuce. I want to go back and try out the whole menu.

Lunched here with the family to celebrate a birthday. Good lunch menu - most of us chose one of the set courses. The Spring rolls were VERY good and the lemon chicken main was equally good. No complaints and quite inexpensive. BYO was very useful as well.

We had dinner here on a very hot midweek evening... Although it was still quite hot when we were seated outside, the balcony was a quiet and breezy alternative to the crowded and noisy interior(lots of hard surfaces... Service was prompt and friendly and the menu interesting... The entree of buttermilk calamari was great as was the chicken & leek terrine. Our mains were the corned beef with greens (a bit dry but tasty) and the pork belly (which was very greasy and had too much dressing). Overall an expensive and underwhelming dinner out.

Ginseng

Modern Asian Cuisine.

Reviewed By Analia_S - Melbourne, Australia

We went to Ginseng for the first time on Saturday night and really enjoyed it. We ordered special fried rice, honey battered chicken (for the kids), battered calamari and beef rendang. The beef was so tender with a lovely sauce. Kids devoured the battered honey coated chicken and all the rice went too! We finished off sharing a deep fried ice cream which we all loved. Really enjoyed the food and would go back again. As always, these places are not budget dining so it's somewhere you can enjoy now and again rather than weekly. The staff were really friendly too so all in all we had a lovely night.

I’ve eaten at this restaurant on several occasions, but this time I’ve had it. Why are the staff so miserable, as if their job is a chore!!! No enthusiasm or politeness. They think their faces might crack if they smile!!! The food isn’t flavoursome either, boring. The view is awesome, but that’s all. Cheer up staff!!! If you’re not happy working there, go somewhere else, and don’t make it miserable for paying clients!!!

Sammons Teppanyaki

Reviewed By Stu W

Was super excited to visit while in Frankston due to the TA ratings we saw. We understand from many teppanyaki experiences around the country that price per person averages $60-$90 depending on your choice & is reflective of entire experience.
The good: staff, cleanliness, presentation and decor.
The bad: food was dry, no rice was included with meals ( a great filler and usually entertaining to watch chef cook) chef was average in personality , flavour of food all the same ( soy sauce), only vegetables were been shoots & spinach mixed at the end. Bad value for money.
It was a shame and leaves a bad taste in your mouth when same money spent at a quality restaurant yields amazing flavours.
I gave an average score based on fact that food was fresh, place was clean and presentable and staff were smiling.
We possibly were an oversight in their impressive track record of good reviews.
