Kennedy's Restaurant

Reviewed By Barry G - Brooklyn, New York

A hot summer evening is the ideal time to dine at Kennedy's. The atmosphere is welcoming, making you feel special as soon as you walk in. This is fine dining at its best. Ask for a table near the window and enjoy the view of Manhattan on a clear night. Looking at the beach right outside the restaurant, you feel like you could easily be in Cape Cod. The waiters were attentive, and the salmon was perfectly cooked. I recommend the mashed sweet potatoes as a side. Delicious! For dessert, chocolate mousse cake is the way to go. Live music added to the experience.

Trip advisor review for la vue
We made a reservation late on a Saturday night. The restaurant was pretty booked but we were offered a table in the closed-in rooftop room. Although it was chilly they offered us blankets--a nice touch--and when we moved to another table all was fine. The service was excellent, with our waiter (and later when the room became really full, another server) stopping by regularly to make sure all was well. There were revolving lights that were in my husband's eyes, and the waiter changed the angle so that they were no longer bothersome. The food was delicious! At the waiter's suggestion I tried the cod--not usually one of my favorites--and I'm glad I did. My husband had duck spring rolls for an appetizer and I had skirt steak salad--both wows! I'm originally from Brooklyn and had not thought of the Sheepshead Bay area as a place for fine dining--I was wrong. Next time, we'll make reservations ahead of time.

Clementes Maryland Crab House

Reviewed By Dan W - Portland, Oregon

There are many ways to describe Clementes. I stopped there after a volunteer beach clean up at Plum Beach, very nearby. It is a very retro place, much like Brooklyn in the 60s, especially the decor and atmosphere. The help, however, reflects the new generation of Brooklyn. The food is outstanding! Try the crab chowder for certain. During nice weather days they offer plenty of outdoor seating. A genuinely nice place to dine.

Opera Cafe & Lounge

Reviewed By CountessChloe

Went with my daughter and granddaughter. It was great to sit outside and have the baby carriage right next to our table. Service was good and the manager was particularly attentive. Atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed - this I really enjoyed. The food, however, was nothing special and overpriced for what is was. Desserts looked good, but honestly, it's hard to mess up dessert. I feel no particular reason to return...

Bayhouse is a great place to eat and drink, meet with friends, make new friends, listen to wonderful music, and have a lot of fun. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The view is beautiful. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. The owner Shawn and the staff are all very nice. My family, friends and I love going to Bayhouse. I consider it to be the best restaurant in Breezy Point.

Michael's of Brooklyn

Reviewed By Manuelq57 - San Juan, Puerto Rico

This is an old fashioned restaurant in all sense of the word, a throwback to restaurants with wood paneling, long bar, well dressed and groomed servers.

From the moment we entered the restaurant you feel welcomed, with smiles everywhere and a genuine warmth that makes you feel you are a regular to the restaurant. Only one server I observed had a sullen face, perhaps a bad hair day for him.

The menu is massive. There is the regular menu and the menu of the day, which offers many options. It took a while to navigate through all the tempting options. After ordering our appetizers, they served us with a basket which had 4 types of bread, crumbled cheese, olives and salumi. That was a meal by itself. In spite of that, we ordered fried calamari and and mozzarella en carrozza. Both were good, as expected. For dinner I had the veal chop parmigiana, a nice size veal chopped pounded very thin and covered with an exquisite cheese and red sauce. A friend had a summer dinner, which basically is a mish mash of many things, including braciole, sausage and many other things. The shrimp scampi was light and very tasty, with a side of angel hair pasta that was cooked to perfection. Someone in our group ordered the braised short ribs with fried gnocchi. The meat was perfect but she was not too thrilled with the fried gnocchi. There was no room left for desert at all!!!

Worth the trip, worth the price
