Seaba Station Motorcycle Museum

If you are into bikes, this is a must-stop attraction. As I was travelling Route 66 by bike, it was one of my many planned stops – and I wasn’t disappointed.

In fact, as I had a full days riding ahead of me, I didn’t allow enough time to really take in all the bikes and memorabilia and looking back, wish I had spent another half hour here. It has amazing old motorcycles and the team member (whose name I can’t remember, sorry) was extremely friendly.

The building was an old gas station in its previous life. Inside, a couple of highlights were a 1979 Triumph that still has its original shipping packaging and a couple of motorcycles from the first ‘Captain America’ movie, which was pretty cool.

Not that I’m into gift shops, but this one was pretty neat. I even bought something. Entry is free and donations welcome – which I gladly made. Worth a stop.

McJerry 66 Gallerie

Jerry's "Route 66: EZ66 GUIDE For Travelers" tells readers to stop by and say "hi." So, that is exactly what I did. Jerry is such a friendly person to talk to, and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation about the Route.

The Gallerie is lined with Jerry's artwork depicting Route 66. The paintings are fabulous! Although I flew in, Jerry said that he is willing to ship.

Thanks for the visit, Jerry! I will stop again on my next drive down the Route.

Route 66 Interpretive Center

Reviewed By BBailey182 - Buffalo, New York

This place certainly makes a good entrance when it comes to luring tourists inside. It's a former Armory, built during the 1930s. They say the walls are 20 inches thick, so this place will be here for a while.

The Oklahoma National Guard left it in 1971, so the decision was made some years later to turn it into the Route 66 Interpretive Center. If you are wondering that exactly that is, well, you probably aren't alone.

There are a few relics from the golden age of Route 66, but the heart of the exhibit is the videos that are available. You can even sit in car seats or lay on replica beds and watch them.

At least in theory. When we were there, about two of the six videos were actually working. Without those, it's fair to say the value of the visiting experience was lessened considerably.

The gift shop had some interesting items, and the one employee was friendly, so that helped. It looked like the rest of the building was used for a variety of functions, as there is a big hall in the back and a nice meeting room.

The official website has more information. Assuming the video machines get fixed, it's worth a stop.

Lincoln County Historical Society & Museum of Pioneer History

Reviewed By Cavernlover - Bray, Oklahoma

This museum is much larger than it looks at first sight. The building is deep and has two stories. The exhibits cover more than a century of artifacts including pioneer furniture, a one room schoolhouse and memorabilia from many wars from all branches of service. A marionette exhibit is very unusual.

Chandler Golf Course

Reviewed By Chipperhigh2 - Okemos, Michigan

Played Chandler Golf Club on my way east from Albuquerque. A 9-hole par-36 course. It measures 3,182-yards from the longest of the 3 sets of tees. The course was in pretty good condition, but needs work to make it a quality course. It is OK to play for what they charge.
