Pranburi Forest Park

Reviewed By Phil C - Southampton, United Kingdom

We visited Pranburi Forest Park, I found it very quiet and a little barren. Trees have been planted and there are walks and a camping site near the beach area.Every thing seems to be well maintained including the toilet block. It's an OK place but I would not hurry back.

Sai Noi Beach

Reviewed By Peter H - Melbourne, Australia

Small beach hidden in a cove between two high outcrops, this is the closest to what I would consider a good beach by Australian standards. It is almost spotless in comparison to khao takiab or hua hin main beach as it is less commercial with only one large sunbed operator that flogs beer and food and a few beach massage huts.
The usual mill of locals seeking to sell beach wear and trinklets.
Sunbeds are 100 thb for the day and large changs are reasonable at 100 as well.
Getting there is about 15-20 minute car journey as it is somewhat tucked away in the coastal hinterland albeit quite scenic as you draw near with masses of bouganvillas flowering adjacent the road.
After around 1 or 2 pm, the swells increase to make it a bit heavy for small children although the water is only waist to chest height. The cove concentrates the waves and gives it considerable oomph. The sand is a mix of crushed shells and silica so wear thongs or flip flops if you have sensitive feet.
Overall a great place to get a tan

Pranburi River

The travel guides which took us around the Pran Buri area on our quad bikes took us there. Nice views over the local area and the local fishing village. Unusual for a big crocidle to be up there.

Chao Mae Tubtim Thong Shrine

Sought this place out to satisfy a hobby (tftf). Intriguing little shrine to the fertility goddess. Made and offering and spent a few mins looking around. Might need some explaining if you take the kids along.....

Wat Khao Din

Reviewed By Clive R - Royal Tunbridge Wells, United Kingdom

We were the only tourists here which makes a change and made the visit even better.
The locals were all gathered in a hall area by the entrance lounging around and generally just chatting and hanging out. They were very friendly and invited us in but there is not much to see in the hall.
The main gold Budda is flanked by two elderly monks which you reach up a grand staircase with a snake handrail. There is also a pagoda on four levels which you can climb and get a good view from the top. We found blankets and water bottles at the top so assumed someone sleeps up there.
We spent a good hour and a half here looking at the various buildings, there was lots of building work going on so the complex is being made bigger with more things to see.
