It s a Cathedral, so it s big, but After visiting all churchbuildings i would say this one is certainly not nr 1 to visit The inside didn't t impress me, felt very empty. The art inside is standard.

Baptistere Saint-Jean

Steeped in history and atmosphere. Don't miss this unique church, used for baptisms in the early days of total immersion. Fascinating sarcophagae, sadly some of children. Gives an insight into the importance of Poitiers as a religious centre.

Certainly worth a visit and parking very affordable and in the vicinity of the hotel de ville (same name). Other interesting places nearby. The drive through the town itself was great too and there are enough nice bars and restaurants nearby.

Palais de Justice

Reviewed By mitch w - Bordeaux, France

WE saw the outside of this building from the back side. There is a nice small garden and a very well placed plaque that explains the history of this building in several languages. Joan of Arc was theologically questioned in this building prior to being approved to join King Charles II. The front is actually around the block. On our visit the building was closed to the public in that it is still used for governmental offices.

Eglise Saint-Porchaire

Arrived after the morning mass. Still smelt of incense and people were lingering. Obviously a church alive and well, not just a historic site.
