10 Things to Do in Munnar That You Shouldn't Miss

December 7, 2017 Janette Largent

Sprawling tea plantations surround the serene hills of Munnar, which attract adventure travelers hungry for paragliding, treks to Anaimudi (South India's highest peak) and hikes originating at the confluence of three mountain streams. The stone Christ Church, built by the British in 1910, is adorned with renowned works of stained glass, and Eravikulam National Park, about 10 miles away, is home to equally colorful wildlife, including the endangered Nilgiri Tahr (ibex), ruddy mongoose and 120 bird species.

Two men in a dark pit, so you are looking down at them and can barely see them in the candle-lit hole. Not much more than I would see at the local dojo (advanced) exercise sessions. Nothing very impressive, All in all, disappointing.

Top Station

Reviewed By WelshToGo - London, United Kingdom

It was originally the highest point of the pulley system that carried large bundles of tea down the hills.
Would have been improved by a reconstruction of the gantry system so we could see what it would have been loke.
It is just a real shame the tourist authority (that makes a small charge to use the view platform) don't spend a tiny amount to clear the rubbish from the area. It's a common problem in India but surely could be fixed at relatively low cost?

There's not much to say here. It's at a high-up altitude in the hills of Munnar, where from at that altitude, you can take photos of the view below. While there is a lot of tea around, due to the plantation, the view is what matters in your photos. Take some photos, and move on.
