4x4 rides, ATV rides and Sandboarding...

Reviewed By JavaMama58 - Bali, Indonesia

Some people may think it expensive, but considering the total activity (lasted an hour), was well worth our time and money. It was the best activity of our entire Ilocos visit. The scenery at their predetermined stops were breathtaking. The driver was respective snd considerate as we explained our daughter’s fear of heights. He chose the less steep drives. Then he suggested that he could drop us off at the staging area and he could drive our son on one of the steep drives for our son to experience the steeper drive. So we all managed to enjoy the full experience based on our neuroses.

St. William's Cathedral

Reviewed By ShilohinBC - Lower Mainland, BC

That is the first thing that struck me from the outside. The interior is painted a powder blue and white with gold trim. The church was packed with pilgrims n on a tour visiting all the churches in the province in preparation for Easter. There is a plaque indicating that the Marcos contributed to the stuccoing of the exterior.

Visited this when we went to laoag city, it's a great landmark to ensure you don't get lost. The actual building has slowly sank so the entrance was once tall enough that you coulkd ride through in horseback but now you would have stoop just trying to walk through

Museo Ilocos Norte

I went to the Museo Ilocos Norte alone last June and the flow was amazing - from old household and farming materials to the bahay na bato house model to the new/modern exhibits! The bahay na bato model mesmerized me more. I became more familiar with the house layout and it really felt like I am part of the exhibit!

Santa Monica Parish Church

Reviewed By Nigel G - Singapore

We visited this church today and was very impressed with the architecture. Built in 1720's and with the longest church aisle in all of the Philippines. The pulpit is very interesting - beautiful fashioned but looks as though it may collapse at any time.
Modern stained glass windows. Interesting and surprisingly blends well with the prevailing architecture. Don't forget to take a look at the roof - mighty impressive.
Take a detour here to visit. Well worth it!

Cockhouse Bar

Reviewed By jumpingjustyna - Toronto

Cockhouse was so much fun. It is a bar that serves food. Everyone that works there is very friendly. They are very pleasant to foreigners. It is a local bar so most likely there are not that many foreigners visiting. I was taken there by locals.
What to expect: It is just one big karaoke show but with really excellent singers. They are very good and sing american songs. It is a bar that has many regulars. People go to see the main singer. He definitely has a following. If you are in Laoag and looking for some fun you got to check this bar out. You will have a great time.
The only downside is that it is very smoky. Everywhere in the Philippines is smoky though.
Happy singing

Tobacco Monopoly Monument

Reviewed By wandermomcc - Muntinlupa, Philippines

This monument is located in a roundabout across the Provincial Capitol. To go here, you need to cross the street where fast vehicles pass, so be very careful. This monument serves as a homage to the Ilocano tobacco farmers.
There is also a mini park located near the monument; but again, I think one must be careful in crossing the street.

I was told by a friend that the Dam was built for the purpose of irrigation to the neighbouring region. It was a fantastic sight. The water was cooling but very rapid. Be extra careful when going into the water. Swimming is allowed here.
