This is the fantabulous example of the fine carving, "Jali Nakshikam". The carving on the fort depicts the life of our ancient Raja and Maharajas. Rajasthan really speaks the truth of the lavish life that our predators had. India was called as The "Valley of Gold" which seems true when you see forts like Junagarh.

Entry fee of 250 for an Indian citizen. Even Taj Mahal doesn't charge that. Had expectations to see this place but don't think it's worth that value so came back from the entrance.

Lalgarh Palace is residence of king family. Recently a part of the palace has been acquired for a hotel named The Lalgarh Palace. The royal palace is a five star property and maintained by the servants of king family. During my visit movie Firangi shooting was going on. The palace is quint and peaceful to visit, however not that much touristic as Bikaner is having just few sightseeing and having not that charm as Jodhpur, Udaipur and Jaipur.

Devikund Sagar (the Royal Cenotaph) was a spectacular display of architecture, maybe even more gorgeous than the other buildings in the city. It is not as popular on the tourist list as other sites, but it is a beautiful place to simply ‘be’.

Kote Gate

Reviewed By Suresh K - Chennai (Madras), India

This area contains the magnificently carved havelis of yore which are now not in use and kept locked and barred to general public. Its owners prefer to stay elsewhere and as per guide come down only occasionally.
While one can approach this place in an auto, the market area is strictly walkable only. The roads are narrow and packed with shops, people and animals. So not very hygienic either. We were not serious shoppers but bought small quantities of spices, pickles and pappads just to see how it would be different from what we usually eat.
Should be included in visit only if one has time to spare.

Prachina Museum

Reviewed By chandan_khatua - New Delhi, India

A small, impeccably maintained museum in the same complex as that of Junagarh fort, Prachina Museum has a splendid collection of old photographs, paintings, furniture, textiles & rich memorabilia of the royal family.
A cafetaria located near the entrance to the museum serves excellent food at reasonable rates & is very popular with visitors.
